As I (and probably a lot of us on this forum) often have to describe bikes that may not be well known to many moto-laypersons, I frequently find myself thinking of what kind of car a certain bike is most similar to. For example,

    A Ducati 1098R
    [IMG]

Might be likened to a Ferrari 458
    [IMG]

    A KTM 990 Adventure
    [IMG]

Could be compared to a Ford Raptor
    [IMG]

    A Honda CBR600
    [IMG]

Is a lot like it's Civic Cousin
    [IMG]

Let's see your comparisons. I'm excited to see what everyone thinks.

I own a perfect compliment of car and motorcycle, a '66 Volkswagen Beetle and an '82 Honda C70 Super Cub. Both are basic functional designs, built for ease of use and repair. Both have, or had, long production runs and have been produced in very large numbers, though Super Cubs, at over 60 million, easily out number Beetles by over 3 to 1. They were both antiquated during the majority of their production. In stock form, they are hopelessly inadequate in modern U.S. traffic conditions. Both will have their top speeds easily manipulated by hills and wind direction. The VW and the Honda can be cobbled back into some sort of functionality with wire, duct tape and maybe a crescent wrench, but are also easy to repair properly. Most importantly, they are both a blast to drive/ride, and piloting one always put a smile on my face.

Now see, I've got my KLR set up to ride 90% dirt, 10% slab. I rather see it compared like this...

Or maybe with the offroad capability mixed with a bit of comfort such as this...
