    Well it seems that the guy who was responsible for this epic effort;

    http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1004342

    is at it again... If my information is correct (it is) Scott on his recently serviced KTM 690RR (wash and new tyres) will be taking on the CSR from Wiluna - Halls Creek in one sitting. Now we all know its a long ride, one that a lot os us will do as an adventure in itself but Scott is planning to do it in a continuous ride only stopping for the essentials being fuel (already cached) and food (being carried). Im pretty sure thats about 1850 km of unsupported desert riding in one hit.
    All of the safety systems are in place, all of the T's are crossed and the I's dotted, comms checked and rechecked, bug out plans de-bugged.

    All things going to plan will see Scott leaving Perth later this week and the ride commencing this Saturday (23rd May).

    Again SPOT is tracking his movements and anyone who wants to see what hes up to just click on the attached link;

    Just another day in the life of a guy and his KTM....

    Yep I had a fascinating chat with Scott at last years Motoexpo and recall him speaking about this, plus a few more possible ideas in the pipeline as well. Stay tuned.

    I would struggle to do 1850k in one sitting on good gravel and tar roads in one sitting.

    The guy is a machine as we have seen.

    50/50. Primarily 4WDs who don't travel that fast but it's primarily an open track so vision is good

    That will be a mighty effort on a big bike.
    There are some pretty big limbs hidden among those slappy sticks.

    BE good to see how the 690 holds up on the corrugations after reading the tale of one that snapped a frame.

    Never seen corrugation like it!

    actually the majority of 4x4's go north to south, its the blind corners just over the dune crests that will be the danger zones as the 4x4's try and build momentum to get over the dune

    Hey nry, I think you're on the money.
    And Scott's resume is already looking pretty good, 72 hour coast to coast and return in under 120.
    He has shown that he can ride day and night in the harshest conditions and smash existing records, I just wonder what time he will do on this ride?
    Any one want to hazard a guess??
    Sub 36 hours?? Is that doable or realistic without unforeseen dramas?
    I'm sure what ever time he does it in will be as impressive as his coast to coast ride.
    Best of luck to him, and if he can raise awareness and sponsorship for a future Dakar attempt more power to him, there are dreamers and doers.

    That particular 690 has done Dakar, Aust safari, X Aust record and plenty of training rides. its a rally replica built to carry the tanks and equipt it's fitted with.
