We know what happened to Helder.....

I'm curious to hear what befell Chaleco late in the stage? :dunno

He started the special 00:13:41 back from Despres and had chopped that down to 00:07:41 by WP5...lost a little @ WP6 00:08:52 but then ended the stage @ 00:18:08 :huh

So he had taken at least 6 minutes out of Despres at one point but ended the day giving not only that 6 min back but an additional 6+ as well!

I quote myself because it seems nobody read this.
Besides Pizzolito´s performance, have you noticed that he rode extra 30 minutes today (navigation error), run a really fast pace (almsot fastest of all) and did not get out of fuel!!

yeah thats weird. Maybe they gave him (javier) an extra couple of liters, and were trying to give Helder exactly enough, reducing his weight? Bad call.

Anyone have any idea how really bad the weather is? Based on this and live timing it looks like the moto pack at the rear (Luis, Thierry) might have got caught up in the weather. Looks like everyone ahead of cp5 is still going forward but the rest are at a stop...

I'm probably not the only one who actually said it out loud, quickly, with a raspy Japanese accent.

This reminded me, a lot of spectator video captures helicopters following the competitors, often with one of the stretcher things hooked to its side. It gives kind of an errie vibe, like a vulture shadowing a dying man lost in the desert.

"Hey, I'm sure everything's going to be fine, but, you know, just in case I'll hover above you with this stretcher for a while. Cows happen you know."

Can a riding style have that much impact, or were they riding with the same engine?

Helders under seat Nitrous was always going to be an issue :evil:evil
