What a fun site to compare bikes on ![]() The overlay is excellent and the information is great. Yes, the Grom and TW are very similar with me on them. I am 6'-4" and I am fine on the TW for long periods. I have bar risers on it and would most likely add them to the Grom. The biggest difference is that my knees will be above the tank according to the overlay. There is nothing new about that, my knees are above the tank on most bikes including the TW.I suggest anyone interested compare a small bike, like the TW200 with the Grom and you will see that other than the little wheels, it really isn't that small. I also compared the Grom with a Harley 48. My helmet height is a good bit higher on the Grom than on the 48. The 48 is longer but I don't think that will make it more visible to drivers. Interesting, very interesting...

Its all this nannying bullcrap and talk of lawsuits is probably one of the reasons you lot in the U.S don't get all the cool bikes you so desperately want, PC is so un-PC these days, even in the UK were starting to sue and complain for the slightest thing, folk have nothing better to do than spoil fun for others its why the worldis turnin to crap, restrict, deprive, tax the crap outta everything it just gets people mad and that's why crime goes up, people take instead of asking etc etc, and until people stand upto the do gooders who have let the bad get out of control and punishing the good folk, I see its only gonna get worse.
Damn, all I want is my lil 125 to customise n pose on, its one good thing in my life I look forward to doing, god help those that stand in my way!

Glad to see there are other folks like me out there. I really want one of these!
The funny thing is, I have ZERO reason to get one, other than just having fun on it. I think it'd be a blast to ride while my fiance is riding her Ruckus. I love the Ruckus, as I originally bought it for myself. The Grom is like a Ruckus that can do more reasonable speeds, has a manual gearbox, has fuel injection, looks hella cool, and has an adequate suspension. The cool thing is - if I weren't so spoiled already with my three bikes, this would be a great cheap practical riding solution for my city. It's a very capable and fun bike that can do practically anything I need it to in my city.

Grommet Guy
So, Ergo doesn't have the XR80 so I compared the Grom with the Honda CT110.
Now that is amazing, other than the size of the wheels, the bike size and rider position are almost identical. It really is only the size of the wheels that give it the small look.

Had an interesting thought (at least I thought it was)
What if any advantages would a Grom have over something like a TTR125 Sumo, and vice versa?

all i can think of is:
50 state street legal from the factory factory gauges "passenger" seat and pegs, i doubt the grom is a bike anyone will want to ride 2 up on but it's a good feature for helping people.... EFI!!!!! to some that's bad but i like its benefits i have already heard of up to 210cc big bore kits from the guys over on PM i imagine the 12/12 ttr would beat a stock grom on a kart track. |
