Earlier today I honked several times to make some annoying cage go away, and suddenly the horn stopped working. The button isn't jammed or anything, it just won't produce any sound. Any idea what might be the problem? I'd feel much safer if I could get it to work again. Greetings from the road Kevin Ps this is a 2006 12gs, stock horn
I was cut off by a truck yesterday on my commute in to work on my new GSA. I reached for the horn, and it made this wholly unsatisfying farty/whiny noise. I think the guy in the car next to me started laughing at how retarded a noise it was. I've heard some lame motorcycle horns in my life, but this takes the cake for horn weaksauce. I would not consider it any great loss if my horn died completely - in fact it would simply save me from another embarrassing moment. I have no idea why your horn doesn't work, though. Perhaps the little gerbil they've trapped inside it that makes that noise finally got tired.
It quit from overuse. If you are a good boy, and don't use it for six months or more, it might work again......At least until you try to use it more than 3 times in a month. Built in courtesy, and all that.
Well, in the end it was fixed the way most computer problems are fixed ... shutting down and restarting :). After my lunch break, it suddenly worked again. As for courtesy, you make a good point, of course ... It would be easier if these Americans learned how to drive ;-)
