Looking for a place that could make some nice motard rims for a 650 Dakar in or around the Brisbane area, anyone have any suggestions?

Oh and what price range for such a job if anyone has done similar before would be good.

These guys do a lot in the Motard scene, they build a lot of wheels.
They distribute Talon Hubs too, don't know if they have one's for the Beemer though.

I used ASH's Spoked Wheelz in Albion Brisbane to build my Motard wheels for my DR650 , cheap ,prompt as promised and top quality work and components. Even gave me a free spoke check at 1,000k

A mate is getting a set of wheels for a 1200GS from Woody, he also tried Brisbane but what he wanted was beyond them.

I am looking forward to riding the GS witha 21" and 18" combo.

When I built my Special, John Titman did my wheel and did nice work. He is a very knowledgeable guy.

recently delt with Mike Warner Wheels recently - and fantastic service.

Have spent more than my far share of money at Woody's Wheel works also, however with the state of the US/Aussie Dollar at the moment the advantage of going overseas at the moment is almost lost!!

    Great service at both..

I've also used Ash's wheels for a Tenere project. The guy was old fashioned in my dealings with him.On time, bearing in mind the Morad wheel had to come from the U.k, top qualty job and price as quoated.:clap

I've worked out a few prices and for complete wheels with disks and all the other bits and pieces its going to cost around $3000-$3500......

Does that sound about right to you guys?? or a bit expensive.

    $600 pair
    Lacing $220 pair
    Gal spokes $ 150 2 sets

    Genuine Hubs +spacers $650

    Bearings $45.00

Genuine rotor bolts $58 for 10 bolts

    = roughly $2,400

I would check the price on MetalGear discs and i run the same gearing Motard or off road so no need for a 2nd cush drive

Like i say he supplied 2 excel rims in Silver/ chrome as i wanted
    1 x 3.50x17
    1 x 4.25x 17 for $600

The other way would be pick up a pair of complete donor wheels to get your hub and cush drive parts.

And Metal Gear discs come supplied with pads.

    Cheers Rick
