Hey guys, New to this whole thing. I'm not looking for anything too crazy, as I'm completely new to this adventure riding stuff and my bike isn't the greatest for it, but I want to try it out anyway! Went out on a couple gravel roads on the weekend and had a blast and want to try some more. I'm located in Waterloo, just wondering if anywhere near is good for some easy-ish adventure riding. Thanks in advance! -Dallas
I'm in Waterloo as well, and primarily stick to dirt roads, rather than any kind of mud or water, there are lots of dirt roads around here, unfortunately most of them are flat and straight. An area that I seem to end up quite often is the Durham area and north of there. Lots of hills and dirt road that aren't' serviced in the winter and can get a little dicey for my Uly with sport bike tires. My local rides are usually a combo of paved secondary roads and dirt roads.
Yes the farm roads around KW are fairly flat and straight. Watch out for dogs. I agree with Witness, north of Durham has some interesting roads...
I too live in KW and usually end up trailering my enduro somewhere. Presently, I'm scouting Durham for the Motopark Festival, June 12, 13 2010. Riders are welcome to join me on my runs to Grey County and asked to attend the D/S ride held on both days of the festival. I have a lot of hours on the maps and on the roads and know you would enjoy this route. Rick Currah Kitchener 519-743-9921 currah@sympatico.ca
Another guy from Kitchener here. I usually hit the gravel from Harriston north turning when I see a road that looks interesting. Airport Rd from Hwy 9 up has some spectacular roads especially around Creemore. I'm planning on a "Circle Georgian Bay" run this summer, Up to the Tub, ride the "Big Canoe" , explore Manitoulin then hopping on & off of 69/400 to Waubashene, then back roads to home. Don't know when yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I'd be up for some day runs, Sunday is usually a good day for me to get away.
Me too, my bike is still a week or so away but my wife and I have been looking for some areas to ride. Topo map would have me believe I won't find to much locally?
I've advertised for a KW BBQ - if we do this, then 'local places to ride' could be the first "topic of the night."

Hello all. vstrommer and I have been friends for years. You'll have to forgive him for his extreme jealousy of the Mighty KLR See you Mon.@ 7
