Need to know the length on a set of stock 48s out if the adventure. MM please Someone has a set laying around hopefully. Thanks
I don't know the lengths off the top of my head, but they are listed in the downloadable KTM owners manuals.
OK, but it still depends on the model year. If you go to Slavens Racing's website, you can click on each of the WP fork springs, and see which year they fit. They should be either 485 or 465mm.
just upgraded mine. the stock ones ('12 990R) i have in the garage that were replaced are 18 1/4 in, or 463mm. so i'm gonna guess they are the 465mm. hope this helps, laramie
The OEM ones from my 2005.5 Adventure S measure at 468mm. They had about 15k miles on them when they were switched out.
RaceTech has the spring lengths listed. The part no. had the DIA in mm, Length in mmx10 and weight in KG/mm. For example a 43mm dia, 465 mm leng, .48 kg/mm spring is> 4346 48
Quite the variation. Sounds like 465 is nominal, then +/- 2mm (-ish). The ones from my '11 990R measure 466mm & 466.5mm. They were pulled when the bike had less than 10 miles on it.
I just measured mine for you now and they are 465mm. Were pulled with 2500kms on them. From a standard 2011.
If you have a friendly dealer, ask him to print out the 'settings list' for your forks and shock. It's a very good thing to have. It will tell you all the standard shim sizes, stock springs, optional springs by rider weight, damper settings for std, comfort, sport, etc. If you tell us what year you have, you might get more information.
