I've had Tourance Next and Michelin Anakees and liked the Tourances. But I'd really like to know what other 90% street tires are currently available for our bikes.

    Let's make a list.

before you buy Pilot Road 4, remember the tire has 2 different sections of rubber with different hardness.
I can't find the link now, but from what I understand I think I saw, the Standard and the GT have harder rubber in these 2 sections then the Trail.

Not out yet that I can find. Called Michelin this morning and they were going to have a specialist call back. Nothing yet...

Specialist called back. They are in the system but not on the shelf yet. She suggested calling back in 3 weeks. And they are Trails.

    What about a 60/40 tire like the Scout 60? Don't see a 120/70 19 anywhere?

I got TKC80s on my bike and I love them but the rear is half worn at 1100 miles. Could I use a 150/70R17 on the 2014 GSAW? There are more options on this size, like the Heidenau.

I was lookin at the tkc80s but itd be hard to spend money on tires that last 2000 miles. Are they that much better off road than the heidenaus? I was wanting something a lot more off road oriented but has minimal wear. Are those the top 2 choices?

These are the top choices and the Heidenaus are just a trade off between off-road performance and durability.

The TKC80s are incredible off road and incredibly good on road for such a knobby tire. The reason why: soft compound. The exact thing that makes them grip incredibly well on road is what makes them not last long.

I love the TKC80s on and off road and when I had them put on the bike (before taking delivery) I knew people got max 3000 miles off them. I was expecting to get that much life on mine. I'll wait and see how long they last and try the Heidenaus next.

I only ride on road to get to where ever I'm riding off road. The main purpose of my GSA is to go off road. For this, the key is the front tire which still looks like new.

After trying the Heidenau rear I'll figure out if it's worth the savings or if I just suck it up and get a new TKC80 every 3000 miles. :lol3

Cool beans. so u think I can pull 6k out of a heidenaus? Then run a tkc80 on the front for 5k? Or would they work against each other?

Metzeler Karoo 3s? Supposedly better mileage than the TKC80 and some initially good reports. I have a set on my GSW but haven't ridden them enough to provide much feedback, especially on wear.

What about CHEAP options?:ear I used the Shinko 705's on my hex, went through rears quick but who cares, they are effin cheap! Now it seems the only cheap option I see is to use an incorrect size.

    Opinions?

How many miles have you put on them? They are the only right-sized option to the TKC80s that are off road worthy.

All the options (cheaper or not) are not the right size, except for the Karoo 3s

I have about 2800 miles on Karoo 3. The rear is about half way to the wear bars in the center of the tread. The front looks good. I'm hoping I'll get about 5K out of the rear. By that time it won't look like any kind of dirt road tire. :D

I am also thinking in buying the Karoo do you know how good they are off road or is it better to get the tck 80 only for off-road use?

I've had them on easy dirt and gravel roads, no real off road use. Haven't had TKC80 on the wethead so can't compare. I'd guess that the TKC80 would be better, but that is only a guess.

As of today only about 50 miles, street use with one stretch of gravel roads. They don't feel as good on the street as the Conti Trail Attack 2s, not even close, but they felt great on the gravel road I sampled.

I will be riding quite a bit during June including two organized dualsport rides so I'll report back after that.

I think there isn't a better Dual Sport tire for the big bikes than the TKC80. It is the best off road and incredibly good on road. The trade off is cost per mile, because it doesn't last.

Especially the way I ride: I have to do at least an hour of 80-90 mph road riding to get to any off road riding and then it's usually rocky trails.
