I don't know if anyone has been watching, but Rod Faggotter finished 14th and Ben Grabham 15th. Both about 2.5 hours behind the winner, which averages just over 10.5 minutes per day over 14 days riding. Pretty good result I would think. Despres averaged 3 hours 6 minutes per day on special stages; Faggotter and Grabham averaged 3 hours 16.
Man, they have finished. It is a good result! 14 and 15 are great results! dakar.com shows 'stage in progress'. ???
Yeah, it looks like it's still in progress, but the media releases have it as all over after 14 stages. I'm guessing it's just a dodgy computer programme.
Gday All, just letting you know myself and a couple of mates are going to camerons corner this Aust day weekend, We are leaving Arkaroola on Sat morning and taking some Secret Tracks upto the Strez then some more rarely used tracks upto the Strez creek. We will take the short cut track to the Camerons Cnr rd then O/nite at the store returning via the same route to Arkaroola on Sunday, wish us well! We are riding Drz`s and 1 crf 450, I will try and remember to take some pics and post up a ride report. Drzwalker (dbw`s the doc)

Hey Master Brewer, Thanks for organising the ride on the weekend. It was good to meet some other like minded souls as well. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips and tricks and I look forward to going on future rides where work permits. Who knew there were so many dirt tracks between Bakeries and Hotels. A great day out. Yes should be good! No he is house bound for the week end he has to get his dishwashing skills upto scratch for when he meets Nazza at the Classic. Doc
Weather permitting (i.e. not like a pizza oven), am hoping to head back up to Caroona CP (near Burra) to do a bit more exploring, staying a couple of nights . All going well, planning to leave Adelaide about lunchtime Friday 15th Feb, back on Sunday arvo. Likely head up via Taylor's Run (and that nice little detour out the back of Kapunda we found last time), Tothill Ranges, and Burra (gotta get me some of those chilli and lime snags again!). Might check out the Mawson trail (and pick up where you left off, Bubba), up to Pandappa and up towards Danngali for a looksee on the Saturday. All welcome, as always. Will confirm the date over the next couple of days. PS - Haven't forgotten the Flinders RR (Nov) - with 5 cameras filming, got a crap-load of footage to work through!
