Sorry Pete, It's a good idea to have it a little out of town.,...so you don't just walk there :-). I'm not think any kind of culinary masterpiece, just something with a little character and not a national chain catering to children :puke1

Of course - a lot of places close on Monday. I'll find something in the area tomorrow when I'm in the office.

Try one of the country hotels. Like the Heidelberg or the Blue Moon in Petersburg. Or the Huether in Waterloo.

Actually, the Huether is what I was thinking of as a great regular place for us to get together. We already have the Ontario-Eat-The-World get-togethers for variety. The Huether has a lot going for it.

    - centrally located local landmark
    - Micro-brewery with pretty good food
    - large outdoor dining area for good weather
    - warm basement pub for cold / wet weather
    - If there are enough of us we can even reserve the "wine cellar"

So I'll be there Monday at 1900 in the basement pub "Golden Lion" and hope lots show up.

Renovated in the 1880's and 1890"s adding an elaborate facade on King St with stone-capped arched windows and an Etruscan tower, and a series of balconies overlooking King and Princess Streets. Within it's new "High Victorian" splendour the Heuther Hotel boasted 40 well lit rooms and 7 parlours.

In 1886 rooms in the hotel rented for one dollar per day, and the hotels menu contained "all the delicacies of the season, as well as the substantials", while it's Lion Brand lager beer had a widespread reputation throughout Perth and Waterloo Counties.

Waterloo's ceremonial Cannon was used annually to fire a salute of 21 guns in honour of her majesty Queen Victoria each May 24, although not without mishap, including one fatality when the gun prematurely discharged and the hardwood ramrod with the force of a cannonball, killed a man who was watching the proceedings outside Huether's Hotel two blocks away severing the head from the body.:eek1 - Waterloo An Illustrated History_ Kenneth McLaughlin

I'm a regular , in fact had dinner there this week.

I guess I'll be able to walk. :1drink

    See you all there.

    Hi guys,

Are these meetings open to anyone? I just came across this thread by accident. I currently own a Vee Strom, I don't really do too much riding off asphalt yet, but would love to hang out and hear some stories.

If we're looking at in-town restaurants, we could do Zeke's Feed and Fuel - they're MC friendly (they have a MC night every Tue over the summer months), and they have decent beer, food, and prices, and they're right down King street just past downtown Kitchener so they're easy to get to. :evil We've also got a good number of ethnic venues in the KW area so we could "Eat the world" without having to travel all over God's back 40 to get there. :deal
