I have an 1150RT with the radio prep kit. I'd love to drop a car stereo in it and have the option to use either the speakers on the bike or my Sena BT headset. Any proven options? My first thought is to wire in a headphone jack to the rear speaker wires and add a BT transmitter to it. Then I could use the fader to choose speakers or BT. Any ideas?
The Sena SMH10 works very well for BT out. You'll have to fab a cable to connect to whatever you make the bike connection to be. A DBDT switch would let you have on/off BT or Speaker (I think).
Not quite following you. I have an SMH10 and it works great as a receiver. I need to set up a transmitter on the stereo and have a way to choose between either reg. speaker output or BT output.
Ya, I forgot about that. Probably because of the price. What I would love to find is something like this but a transmitter instead of receiver. And yes your idea with the relay turn the speakers on and off would work great. Maybe a switch in the dash.
I could be wrong but I think they just receive not transmit. I want to be able to listen to the stereo on my sena. The stereo in my jeep is BT. I'll see if my sena will pair with it.
Mine does two way, for the phone hands free, never thought that it might not do the same for the music.
The Sena SM10 is what you want. http://www.sena.com/product/adapters/sm10/ It will take a stereo input and sent it via BT to the SMH10 headset
If you need Bluetooth control plug in an iPod or iPhone etc and use Bluetooth Gloves. www. Beartek.co Sent from my iPad with ifumbs using Tapatalk

Thanks all, getting to be too much hassle and expense. I'm going to go with no stereo to free up my glove box and I'll leave the speakers mounted in the dash. I'll continue to listen to my xm through my Garmin 665 or my Smart phone both of which are BT to my Sena. I ordered this. For the rare occasion I want the speakers a mini jack cord from the garmin or phone to the dash mounted mini jack plug will give me sound. I lose the am/fm of the stereo but save a lot of other headaches. Phone gets most radio stations over the net anyway. I'm sure these ratings are not real world but it should be plenty to push two 4" speakers. http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PLMRMP1A...lifier/dp/B003HH9FIQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
