Jurgen, always on small school watch. An interesting article on LaTech-- linked from the above article... Louisiana Tech, the best team no one is watching Main thing I recall about LaTech is they were one I mistakenly picked against in last years Bowl Pick'em. Hope they keep doing well. I like their coach, based on his comments.
UNM faces its most "even match" of the season. Texas State University lead by former Lobo Head Coach (and 'Bama and TCU and Texas A&M) Dennis "Jurgen never understood why he kept getting plumb jobs" Kiffin. Woops I mean Dennis Franchione not Kiffin. The current line gives UNM "the home" three. I don't know much about Texas State University other than it sounds like a name out of a movie but I think 3 is about right. UNM by THREE. Please. With Honey and Sugar on Top. Pretty Please.
Lets just say I got WAY MORE love for USU... A quote from an old USU team MD from years back-- He said, "Mike, I wanna go out with a massive stroke, on the sidelines, late in the 4th quarter, with USU kicking the hell out of BYU."
First world, small school problems: Ok CBS if you are going to rank from 1 to 124 at least put some effort into the back end. I'll give you props for not having Washington in your top 25, it actually looks like you survey the whole college scene unlike some other polls (AP) But UNM at 111? Come one. UNM deserves that highly sought after, prestigous and vaunted top 100 status. We at UNM want to be able to chant "We're 98, we're 98...)
This may be the funniest college football spoof, I've ever seen. Ken Burns style letter home to Mississippi, after the Texas beat down... <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/E5nYnMUCnRE" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
Growing up in Jax and having an older brother who went to FSU, I am definitely down on our traditional rivals.....BUT.....I have to admit that LSU may be my favorite rivalry these days. There is no hate, we have similar fan bases, and often a game of national prominence. The game is always mid season so both teams are prepared. While a loss isn't the end of the world, due to divisional tie-breakers, the winner of this game has usually had an eye on the BCS championship game. I'm really looking forward to Saturday's UF-LSU game ....and...Go Cocks....
Hey Lotion Boy! Thanks for that post game report. College football up close and personal is a memorable experience. I appreciate the time you took to share. I'll be on the move early Sat. for Falcon Stadium. Kickoff vs. Navy is 0935 mountain time. Weather looks cold, windy, snowy. What is this? November? It was 80F yesterday! GO AIR FORCE!!! DESTROY NAVY!!! then, lunch! Should be a fun day in the meatspace.
