    Hi skybum69

I have made some and have a few, more in the pipe line waiting to finish.
The boxes seam to be water tight and protect the tank ,if you lay the bike on its side the tank doesn't touch the ground. I am asking $650 Oz $$ + P&H .
If you want I can check the P&H if you are interested.Just PM your details.
    Cheers

The main plate is 5mm 5083 alloy the boxes 3mm 5005 alloy the lids 5mm and seam to be water and dust tight .It offers grate protection for the petcock and when the bike is on its side it rests on the bash plate and handle bars. Weight is about 4.5kg .If any one is interested send me a PM

    Cheers

    Matt,
You are a vendor and this is where such posts belong. Please don't post this sort of thing in the general forums anymore. Thanks!

I don't know about the "skybum" thing, I'm really not that tall. It's a good looking piece and comes in at $478 CAN before shipping. I'm not sure my budget can handle that at the moment. I'll keep it in mind though.

I would be very interested to see how the front mount holds up. Weighing just under 5kg mt then adding tools, oil, etc could put a bit of stress on it. If the mount proves to hold up then i would be fairly keen!!!!

I have put my one through hell and back and I doubt to many would go where mine has gone. I launched mine off a jump at about 80km fully loaded with panniers and lander on a rock , it hit under the right side box and just put a bit of a dent in the plate, thats about 340 kg bike rider and gear.
I hit a tree stump at about 60km in the rain on a single track . It hit the left side box and only just marked it but it saved my foot. I have had it wedged in ruts plenty of times and jammed between rocks with the only thing to go wrong is I have bent a couple of the bolts on the bottom.
All the mounts seem to hold up well.
    Cheers

I have made a of sets of racks for a couple of the guys.
They fit the 640 and are made to fit my Andy straps soft panniers.
A bit of paint and there ready to go.

Thanks Matt, Sure sounds like you have done some serious field testing. Once me kicker shaft seal has been replaced(bummer) i will think about ordering one.
