Hey Kalahari, welcome to the channel. I have got by most of the wet on the dirty old trail wings, have found myself in a few situations, but that is probably through my bad judgement rather than crappy tires. I would probably throw a set of knobbys on first, (or get SOMEONE ELSE to do it for me) then look at luggage. I have only done a few day trips down and around Litchfield, have not done any camping....so I guess......it doesnt matter what I think anyway !! I might be up for a blat on Saturday...as long as its not too fast ! Podge - Livit - any interest ?

Got Livit and Croney coming so should be a good day. We can get all the way to Batchelor on the dirt via the old railway line which is a nice easy ride.

Just went out and checked out the Marrakai track, its passable but the Adelaide River is still about 700 in the deep hole but thats only about 3 metres across might go out there for a ride next Saturday or Sunday, anyone else ?
I drove past theMarakai turn off today from the Stuart Hwy end and though about a ride up it too. JI will be up for it the weekend after next, would like to do the Old Jim Jim rd also.
I will be taking my 14 year old son and his mate down to watch Finke this year as a bit of reward for effort at school. Both race moto-X up here and have plans to race Finke when old enough. We have never been before and I am looking for some good local advice on where to camp along the track to watch the action. Any tips would be appreciated. Cheers,
30km sand dune is a good spot, close to town if needed, all competitors are going hard on 1st day, so some good crashes, bikes and cars. 2nd day there almost home so they are stuffed, so some good crashes, bikes and cars. pzs
Enjoy yourself mate, and look after the shoulder....plenty of repetative drinking exercise should do the trick.! Im back Next Wed (30th) until Mon 04th June, so will look at the Marakai track, if anyone who is not lucky enough to be galavanting around the country side on thier way to Finke and beyond...is intersted.! Hi mate. Next weekend sounds good. I've got to work a few hours this saterday, and get a few chores done. May ride out to Mandorah on sunday for a look-see. Hav'nt decided yet. The weekend is still sooooooo far away BASTARD!!!!! I just found out I am working Sat 2 June from 8am until Sun 3 June 8am! No rest (or riding time) for the wicked.
