I got on my GS today for the first time in 550 miles on the /2.

HOLY CRAP BATMAN! This thing is AWESOME! :clap

Amazing power, throttle response, handling, and fantastic brakes!!!
What a superbike! I feel like I absolutely OWN everything going on around me.
I sit in a position of command and comfort with power at my grasp and whim.

Damned if I won't buy a 2nd one someday. :freaky

Your comments are echoing off the bluffs here in the Ozarks. I went from a /5 to a PD a few months back myself and it is a world of difference. Should have got one years ago.

I got to ride a Goldwing for the 1st time at David Woodburn's place last weekend. I hopped on the G/S and thought 'wow! how light & nimble!' :lol3

    Isn't it great?

After my month long road trip on the R50/5 I went to a buddy's place to collect my Buell. It felt like I'd been reborn as Thor.

um...well, you don't have a running motorbike and you weren't riding brokeback on mine :D

It was a blast too. They killed a pig and roasted it over an open fire. His house/shop sprawls over a hillside with interesting motorcycle bits and pictures in every nook & crannie. He does it twice a year and I'm definitely gonna try to go to the next one in the fall. I'll let ya know when I hear about the next one.

Try riding something even remotely modern if you feel that way on your GS!

I went from an R75/5 to a 2005 Triumph Tiger. The only word I could come up with to describe the /5 after this was "tractor". Even the ride on my old '88 R100GS wasn't even close to the same league as the Tiger.
Needlesstosay, I sold the Tiger and ended up back on a /2.

    Go figure.:D
