    Paypal'd ya Rob.
Don't freeze out there tonight!! :D

Will watch the forecast for Saturday. Could still be a trip in the cards.
Last time I looked it was possible rain Sat too and still cold.

Did it start blowing yet? I wouldn't be surprised if it was 15-25mph tonight.

Yes, I did leave and yes, I did return home...

i'm currently having an issue with my motorcycle... Are there any BMW brains online? I need to talk to someone about this issue, please...

    call me @ 949-412-3319

    --edit-- issue below

My 2002 R1100S BCX got a new set of shoes yesterday, and when I got home last night, I noticed a slight leak from the final drive seal. I wiped it clean and checked it again today, still a slight leak. I changed the final drive gear oil and it is now dripping a bit more often, but definitely what I put in (meaning - it's the final drive gear oil and not the transmission fluid)

My question is this - is this indicative of a catastrophic final drive failure, or just an oil leak due to a leaking seal? I'm trying to leave for vacation and I don't want to risk getting stranded but I can live with topping it off while on my trip if that doable...

This is from Panamint's site. I think the 15 maybe a little icy be careful going over the 14 where it crosses AFH can get icy to. to be safe i would wait till morning. should be a nice day:D

14 Freeway North (Antelope Valley Freeway).

After 70 miles, passing Palmdale, Lancaster, and Rosamond, the 14 Freeway North continues on to become Main Street for the town of Mojave. At the end of town, turn right to remain on the Highway 14 North. After 40 miles, Highway 14 North merges and becomes Highway 395 North.

Continue another 45 miles to Olancha, turn right onto Highway 190 toward Death Valley.

The next 15 miles proceeds northeast along the shore of the once great Owens Lake, then merges with Highway 136, and continues east another 25 miles to Panamint Springs Resort.

I got on the road about midnight, a few sprinkles here and there until I got on the 241 toll road, where it really started raining. It was very windy near hysperia all the way to Barstow.

My gps took me to Barstow, where I'm enjoying some hot chocolate and ordering some breakfast at Denny's.

I think the final drive seal completely blew. I'm not a happy inmate atm.

Sorry to hear that. You have enough to deal with with just the weather. Are going into PSR or heading home?
