Well, it used to be a train station. Hartsel, Colorado. 70 years ago, about ten years after the tracks were pulled up...


Today. Just to the right of the bike is the old train grade. The tracks would have been coming towards us...

I had a bike breakdown there....stater had gone out and the battery died at Hartsel, just before dark, and just before they rolled up the sidewalks.

2m... If I try hard, I can think of some better places to breakdown at just before lights were turned off!

It all turned out good. Met some super folks on Wings that put us in the middle of the group till we made our destination, about 50 miles away...
I unplugged the headlight, and the batt had enough juice to get us there.

Lofton Virginia. They video tape the bikes before they load them to record undamaged state before the train leaves.
