We've been getting questions about the new style lid racks for the Odyssey II bags. In paticular, about the clip on attachment points on the top. Well, we haven't gotten beyond the idea stage. With the introduction of the BMW waterhead, our priorities went in that direction. Now that the waterhead system is in production, we'll have time to get back to the other things. I'm not saying the lidracks clipons are first on the list. But they are "on" the list.

    I like those..

I just wanted to give a big thanks to Alycia in your front office for being so helpful this week in getting my Odyssey bags and mounts out for delivery. Now if UPS does their job I should have them mounted up in time for my trip:clap

Do you have a low pipe option for the Wethead figured out? :ear

(Sorry if I missed it somewhere in this thread)

Nothing planned for a low pipe. The stock exhaust is a one piece deal, so slipping an elbow in isn't a simple chore. Untill somebody starts producing an aftermarket low pipe for it, we're not even thinking about lowpipe bags.

Hey Jesse, I was looking at another thread and one inmate stated that he was using his older bags on a new Water Head GS.

So my question is I have your Odessey II bags for my 2008 GS can I use the same bags on a new GS if I only purchase the racks from you? Just put the right on the left and the left on the right since the exhaust is oppsite. Or does one have to buy the entire set-up (ie bags and rack together)?

I'm guessing the other inmate has/had Triumph Tiger or Explorer bags. They already have the right side exhaust so it's a straight swapover. Using a set of oilhead 1200 bags, could sorta work, maybe. You'd lose the option of moving them foward or backwards, so they'd only sit in one spot on the mounts. (because of where the attachment crank is located) There may be some clearance issues at the rear also. The foot cutaway at the front of each bag would become useless, as that would then be the back. And there may be some other stuff we're not aware of yet.
So it could work, but not well. Obviously we recommend you buy the new stuff.
What you might be able to do, is find someone with the new bike, bags and mounts, , and try fitting your oilhead bags on his mount system. You can then see the problems, and make an educated decision. I'm obviously biased. YMMV.

    Maintenance Parts?

I tried calling but couldn't reach anyone to try and explain these two parts I need for my 7 year old Safari 115 luggage Quick Click System.

Are they available and can I buy 2 of each?

    Thanks.

I spoke with Alicia yesterday (she's a hoot!) and placed an order. I just need to get back to her today to finalize the color.

I also sent Britt some photos of the top box mount and quick release detail on the bottom of the Safari top box I have on my old 2005 GS. I need to be able to switch that top box back and forth between the 2005 hexhead GS and the new 2013 GS-W. Willing to help beta test if you need that.

Edited to add: Called her. Gave her my semi-unusual color choice. Now it is just a matter of time. :evil

    Thanks, will call her today.

EDIT: Alycia took care of getting me the parts and they are shipping today. She is a real sweetheart too.

    Excellent service as always.

Do you really wait 9 days to ship out orders of items you have in stock?

They may have the cases and rack in stock, but the cases are bare. They have to install the hardware and gaskets and package them all up carefully to prepare them for shipping. it isn't just all about throwing a couple cases and a rack in a box and shipping it out. I ordered my set on a Monday and they shipped on Friday.
