Woody's Wheel Works and the World Wide Web have astounded me, Chris you are a legend these wheels are the best yet:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :deal :clap :evil :D :lol3 :eek1 :freaky

...and what a set of wheels they are beside the bar...

This is the beginning of my new project bike for the Pilbara:evil and WWW has put together the most awesome set of BMW wheels known to mankind.

Wow, that looks like 'some assembly required'. Those wheels sure look nice, though!

    No, they're tube-only applications.

That there is some truly fine wheel porn. I never would have guessed there even was such a thing, but there it is: wheel porn. I know it when I see it.

The rest of the bike needs work.

You've done it now. You are required to maintain a build report once you start construction.

Got a couple of projects on at the moment, the 950 is getting worked on and I can't show pics of that one in here. So nothing really to show in the way of momentum on the KHB2 project, but here are a couple of the engine starting to be checked out, the big steel beam is the base to build the frame off and the other shots are of the the other GS getting a birthday treat and makeover. Including the unique 2 piece swingarm and a new one care of ebay! Brand new and it got here in a week from Germany and cost a pittance!
The table is a nearly a complete GS. The boy and I are working on that project. Enjoy and hopefully I will get some bits of steel on the beam soon.Cheers Pilbara

Yes after many years the project is on the go again. This is going to be somewhat different. I am sure it will offend a few, but this is a free world, the bit I live in anyway...

    Will post photos soon.

    G'day my good mate:thumb

ya know i' ve been in the' dog-house ' for awhile,,,but now i'm allowed to cruise and answer/contribute in the regular columns,,,:clap,,had a few minutes to check on my 2 favorite forums,,,when lo n behold ..there they are!!!,,have often wondered how ya be doing with that project,,,mainly because i helped Afekete dial in his HP-1 1150GS...

and did MAP Engineering's rear wheel prototype...

and quite frankly entertained the thought of seeing if i could pull off something like this myself,,with an eye to building a sub 400 lb HP-3...if i'm going to do something why not DO SOMETHING...hell we all know know what NOT to do:wink:

so clue me in if i can be of service....:beer ,,,you're my kind of guy taking on something like this,,,woody

PS..i really like that new dual overhead cam motor as a starting place....and the stock PS/HP it's putting out:thumb

I need to send the spare black rims back for another set of wheels to be built Woody. Black please...

I am thinking to myself, the shots you posted, are some fine looking bikes, mine aint gunna be looking anything like them though. Got some very fresh ideas on how we think things should go. I am sure there will be some here who will be interested and some who will just be plain disgusted:deal

But hey I'm allowed to do what I want to. There is a lot of knowledge out there and I am looking forward to sifting through it. Just hope it does not become tedious for others. Not using traditional forks on this one, will be using a single shock on the front but not the traditional telelever front either.

The 'mechanics' like I said will be different and forever in flux as the project rolls on, but the concept is locked in. This will be a bike made for serious bush bashing and maybe even a bit of racing if it all works out as planned. This is not a show pony or a street ride. It is going to be made for one purpose only and that is out in the backyard.

    Cheers
