With Paul Martin injured and not in the lineup, pairings and special teams mixed up, the US D were pretty lackluster. Difficulty breaking out of the zone, getting thru the neutral zone, etc.

Sweden will be much more crisp, not that that's saying much. :fpalm

It sure wasn't a boring game to me....and 34 million other Canadians. I suppose if I were cheering for the Americans I wouldn't really have had too much to cheer about. But I was cheering for Canada and had a fucking blast watching that game.

The Russians are not a powerhouse to us. They had players that couldn't make a Canadian AHL team. The Canadians don't just throw together talents, although they could and still win.

Sure it comes down to one shot one goal

    Sweden Canada on sunday morning........''''''..

Then why with basically an NHL all star team did they only beat Latvia and the US by 1 goal?

Yeah, with 3 Calder Cups in the last twenty years, that Canadian AHL program is flying high. :norton

Sweden has a good team, good offense. But Canada has the best defense and can score enough to win.

The Broncos had a good offense too coming into the Superbowl.

With a Team coached by Babcock and Claude Julien, they'll neet all the rooting they can get. :D

After the 5-0 loss to the Finns, the US should have to play Latvia to see if they qualify for the 2018 games. Maybe the American team should be replaced for a German team or perhaps even Belarus. :1drink

It was great to see the bruins back on the ice, but the end of the game sucked donkey balls! Did Erickson defect? Lol.

Any thoughts on the St Louis Blues-Buffalo Sabres trade? I think the Blues did OK on this deal.

Chris Stewart hasn't ever really gotten back to his form that one year in Colorado, so it seems reasonable, particularly since this is supposed to be a weak draft year. :dunno

Miller is a huge pick-up IMO. I don't think it will be long before Halak is second fiddle. Miller won't know what to do with a real defense in front of him. He might fall into a nap and give up some easy ones. Being how he is used to constant activity.

Did I miss the memo that today was North American Goalie Swap Day? :lol3

Wild picked up some depth in crazy Bryzgalov after Harding and Backstrom were both shut down for the year. Sounds like they picked up Matt Moulson as well.

Luongo back to Florida fairly amusing. No surprise they then flipped Thomas for Ellis.

In non-goalie news, captain swap of Martin St. Louis / Ryan Callahan deal was weird.

Werd is....Saint lou EEEE was pissy he did not get selected to Team Canada and demanded it....

Callahan was gone at the end of the season anyway.....but it is still a weird trade....no plus or minus I can see.
