Yep,I've been trying to trap them farther from the house, no go. Last year I trapped right next to the house, and it ended badly + stinky. This time, I'm going to get them in the back yard, farther away. Spine shot is what the old timers tell me - paralyze 'em - no spray. Last year I used a 22lr and it didn't work fast enough, if you get my drift..... I watched them until about 6:30 this morning, they aren't too scared.
thanks mate it looks the part and shoots.........and its not a Ruger(the most common SA you find here)
this made sure the shoulder bruise was nice, after holding the other rifles in probably not the best way. First time though With that uber nice gear I was fairly accurate out to 500 yards (not the shot gun! )
I may have to check out the Savage 111. I've read good things about Savages in recent years. When I was a youngun they were considered crap, but now they have gained a rep for being accurate and good for a very reasonable price. As Sniper says, the 22-250 is expensive to shoot and is also something of a blaster. You'd be just as well off to use your 308 as one of those.
I went back for the Savage 111 - turns out the scope is a 6-18x40 Simmons, and will do just fine for my needs. Damn gun looks like brand new.
Very nice gun. Did they include the tactical vise grips so you can rack the slide? I've never seen a tighter production gun. Built like a damn safe!
Is the price tag on the scope for good luck or something? Oh, and the best shooting stock hunter I ever owned was a Savage Model 110 CL in .243.
It's a sighting in label with load info and trajectory info, drop values, etc.... gun is sighted 0 at 200 yards. I'll get the sticker off the scope somehow, it is unsightly.
ya bastidge! Wifey has seen the skunk tonight already, it's not even dark out. How low do I have to hold 'er for a 25 yd shot on a 200 sighting-in job? Tomorrow I go to the pit and blow a box or two through, dialing it in close..... Never had a .223 before, it's all new to me......
It's this one, right? <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Whq7CdFxzOI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
