Most of the boots offered do not fit a wide foot EE, I do not mean Very wide EEEE. Most good boots are Euro and are built for narrow feet. Most companies do not indicate width, only Euro/US sizes. Looking for a high boot (over calf) with no laces, waterproof, cool in summer and warm in winter. A boot you can get off your bike and walk in, I do not mean to take a hike. Do not want a metal toe or a large heel. What do you recommend??
I have a wide foot, bought a pair of Alpinestars Tech 3 boots, have the buckles, are high and unbelievabley comfortable. I've been wearing them around the house to help brake them in, I can honestly say they are the most comfortable thing I've had on my problem feet in a long time! I wouldn't be afraid to take a long walk in them the way they feel. They offer lots of protection from the toe, up. They come with the steel toe guard, but a Phillips screwdriver would take care of them. I'm not saying they are for you, but if possible, try a pair on sometime.
You might want to look at either the Combat Touring or Combat Touring Lights boots from Aerostich (made by Sidi). I've got wide feet, and even though the info lists them as medium width, they are quite comfortable (I have the CT Lights)
I'm heading to Min-Wis-Mis in May on a bike trip, plan to stop in Duluth and visit Aerostich Warehouse.
I have wide feet and have found Sidi's to work best for me. I wear Sidi Vertigo's on the street or track and Crossfire's in the dirt. I can wear these all day without issue.
Also I find most boots besides not may taking a wide foot but most also don't deal well with a good sized Calf. Most boots I can get my foot into I can't zip up past ankle area even when over sizing the boot as I have big Manley calf mussels so hey not to hijack a thread but also boots that don't have issues with large calf's would be great
