I need to get some hand guards and can't decide on what ones. I can get the KTM ones from Amazon for $125. I had HWDB ones on my WR250R and liked them. What are you using?

I'm getting ready to install new tires and will be installing rim locks in at the same time. I see we have only one plugged hole on our wheels close to the valve stem. I've used 2 rim locks for the rear wheel in the past, is one enough?

I always wanted HDBs since the first time I saw them, so they were one of my first purchases for the 690. I still have some farkling to do to them yet, but I think it was a cool purchase.

Well crap, I ordered the KTM unit and now I'm wishing I went with HDB. The HDB top clamp is the perfect place to mount a headlight switch. Another thing about HDB is when you call them your actually talking to the guy that makes them.

Do the ktm handguards have a metal brace running through them? Mine were all plastic. If that's the case I would return them and get what you want

Mine have the metal piece so they should work just fine.

XB12R... You'll like the KTM ones, if you're referring to the PowerParts version. It's what I have on my '12. They look like they belong on the bike. Add some GatosBros C-clamps and you'll be good to go.

Do you find the HDB top plate blocks your view of the speedometer?

Thanks for this photo- I'm not contributing to how to mount the GPS- I have a Britannia fairing and it mounts on there- but I notice your roll chart. I like roll charts and have made some for myself but I'm wondering if there is a program that makes it easier. The way I do it now involves a lot of cutting and pasting, so I'm wondering if there is proprietary software that I'm not aware of. Thanks in advance

Was worried about that too but there is no problem with seeing any gauges

Currently, yes. HDB makes a holder to move it up on the top plate. Mine will move up to the nav tower. :)

One of my original ones broke from vibration at 6000 miles, I never even dropped the bike on it. :huh So I can confirm there is no metal inside them. Replaced with HDBs

On the 690 it's fine on my EXC I milled the top part of the top clamp off.

^ Yes, I'd like to know about some sort of program that would make it easy!
