    3rd Annual Twin Valley Rally

    September 14th - 16th, 2012

Production of the 2012 Twin Valley Rally is well underway! This year's dates are September 14th-16th, the third weekend in September. The Rally will once again be held at Willville Motorcycle Camp at Meadows of Dan, Virginia––less than a mile west of the Blue Ridge Parkway on US Route 58. Many of you already know a the venue and just how much fun we have! This year will be no exception. Last year we took the serious responsibility of smokin' Q in-house. Jonathan and Seth smoked enough butts on-site for everyone to get their fill and then some. It was absolutely delicious and we're doing it the same way again this time––only starting at midnight instead of 3am. They didn't really need those three hours of sleep anyway. Friday night we'll be serving up grilled chicken breasts, green beans, baked potatoes. Saturday night it's that delicious pulled pork BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw, and both nights there will be plenty of rolls, iced tea and lemonade––in case you really need a break from, well, you know. Some folks apparently do.:freaky

The Meadows of Dan VFW will be putting on another of their famous all-you-can-eat breakfast buffets especially for us Saturday morning. There will be the usual happy hours, campfires, coffee in the pavilion both mornings, some great door prizes, guided on and off road rides, a slow-race competition, 50-50 raffle and more. Not to mention unlimited fraternizing with like minded folk who take all of this fun kind of seriously.

We're cooking up some great entertainment too––Becca and Danny, her fine guitar accompanist, have agreed to perform for us again! And, in keeping with our region's amazing music heritage––and being that we're right on the Crooked Road, we recruited some of Southwest Virginia's excellent bluegrass talent to treat us to a couple of sets, then lead the jam for everyone who wants to join in––or just listen, sip and tap yer feet. So, if you play an instrument be sure to bring it along. If you just love blues, bluegrass, BBQ or ridin' motorcycles on these crooked, twisty backroads... what a way to close out a riding season!

Registration is open––as before, registration is in advance via the papal links on our website (only). We opened May 1st and have already sold more half of the places, so this is a heads-up to make sure you have an opportunity to get in. We're limited to 150 places and we'll be closing registration when that number is reached, so register now to reserve your place. Last year we had riders from 14 states––and at least one foreign country! We're gettin' psyched and looking forward to seeing all of you in September! Register here: http://twinvalleyriders.com And don't forget to pre-order your T-Shirts while registering.

Visit the registration page on our website at Twin Valley Riders for up to date information and to register. Be sure to place your T-Shirt order during registration. See you in September.

Checked the count today–– 2/3 full. We have riders coming from 11 states so far, and almost half of the registrants are from out of state.

Explain again why we want all these out-of-staters to learn the secret of our roads (and barbecue!)? :evil

It's a camping thing. There is a motel down the street, and there's one cabin and a bunkhouse at the campground. Rally fee includes camping and if you want to make other sleeping arrangements, which some do, that's a separate thing. We don't prorate the fee.

Great shot - That looks a lot like Pfestus singing his trademark ballad "White Knuckle Smiles" about an epic showdown between a Norton Commando and a Beemin Beemer on the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Great rally with awesome riding in the area - the BRP Gap Attack was a featured group ride:
