What kind of flashlight do you guys keep on your bike? I'm looking for something incase of night time emergencies. Rechargeable would be cool, doesn't matter much to me though, just that it's bright and has a decent burn time. Not worried about thieves, the bike doesn't get parked out of sight of me.

I had one... till I lost the damn thing.:cry
Very small and rugged, I never replaced the battery in 4 years, bright enough to work on a bike, and unlike sooo many lights, it won't roll away from where you put it!

I really should order another one....

I do keep a cranklite in my tank bag but old school zippo has worked for a light many times. [IMG]

Ever look under the hood of an older GM truck? Near the battery is an emergency light. It has a switch and an aprox 15 foot cord with a fold out crank handle to reel it back up. There is a locking lever to hold it in the stowed position. The light itself has a hook and a suction cup as I recall.
Anyway, I have one wired up and attached under the seat of my Buell. I tried to install an led bulb in it but it was too big. Works great for camp setup and such.

Keep it simple. I keep a Petzel LED headlamp in jacket at all times. Under the seat I keep an LED Maglite (AA). As last resort, my smartphone flashlight app. :lol3

I actually have one of those :lol3

I have a small collection of flashlights lying about the house, but wanting something specific for the bike. The cig lighter light is beginning to get more appealing the more I think about it... :ear

Look into a Sunwayman D40A. I ended up buying 3 for gifts as they literally blew my mind. Easily bright enough to replace your headlight if needed and still has a moon mode that is perfect for a tent light. 4xAA as well.

I actually have a couple of petzels around the house :clap

I think I'm just going to go with the cig lighter lamp. That seems to fit my needs the best.

But keep on sending in the suggestions, I like buying flashlights anyways :ear

I really like lights by foursevens. They use the newest and brightest LEDs available. This one uses AA batteries and I would use non-rechargeable lithium batteries because they hold their charge for a long time in storage. http://www.foursevens.com/products/MA-AE You could purchase the single cr123 light that uses rechargeable lithium batteries if you need the rechargeable option.
