South Alabama Tag-O-Rama (including NW Florida)

Here is the new tag....it was nice riding this morning after all the rain last night...temperatures were cool with overcast skies!!



There is the back of an interesting statue in the background of the motorcycle.

This is the plaque on the opposite side.

This is the peanut. For the last several months this is the token that is left at the tag location. The tagger has been moving this to his new tag location for the nex tagger to find. As has been pointed out this peanut is not part of the official rules, however, it is a nice addition to the game. This also has the benefit of eliminating file photos or any dought about who got a tag. It has been played as " no peanut, no tag"

If a player wishes to do without the peanut, no problem. I'm sure the game will survive.

The peanut is hanging on the tree directly behind this post.

This was going to be the new tag, but when I went to put the peanut in the top of the post behind the sign, I quickly found out that a hive of angry wasps lives there. After screaming like a girl and running away while they calmed down, I decided on a new spot.



Unfortunately this one is actually in the water, didn't want to risk a drop.

So to find this spot, you will need Google Earth and this picture:





For my hog riding brethren, when you find this spot you will see that you can get there on a big loop. It is dirt road. If you do not have an Adventure type bike, DO NOT GO DOWN THE EAST SIDE. I thought the east side was a blast, but with as wet as it has been it is not at all cruiser friendly. The road on the west side is dirt, but it is fine. I was able to keep what most sane people would call an insane speed on it even in the rain. If anyone in this thread has a 990/GS/KLR etc, have at the east side, it's pretty sweet for lower Alabama.

On the road rating scale on page one I would rate the west side road a 2, with one or two spots that are no more than 30 feet long as a 2.5. The west side I would rate a 3 with sections of 4 especially with the rain.

Anyway, cool spot that I've never been to. Has camping and fishing docks...and looks like lots of road for me to go back and explore.
