Well I just can't help myself. I'm at it again. I just get MK3 right and I get a new design in my head. It's another camper outfit but this time I can sleep in it without having to take anything out. In fact if my design works out right the only thing I need to take out of the outfit when I get to a campsite is my hat, chair and beer. No need to take out any cooking gear, food etc. All done in/on the outfit.

It will a little bit heavier than MK3 but not by much probably around 10kgs but hopefully this will be offset by not having to carry swag or stretcher. We'll see. Here's some photo's.

    Cut and ready to bend.

This one gives you an idea of the basic shape.

As you can see I like to keep the K.I.S.S. principle going. Straight edges, no curves. East to shape and repair and bolt gear to. Keeps the costs down as well.

That's all for now. Will take part of it to my trusty welder to tack weld part of it tomorrow as I have some design on the go issues.

    More photo's hopefully next week.

    Hi Dave.

Hopefully it will almost be completed by then (probably not, what with the hot weather upon us and the beer fridge fully stocked:D). You get what I mean.

Now you know that sidecaring is infectious, it just never stops:D

But pray tell, what is that K1100 top fairing doing on your workshop floor, don't tell me you have finally seen the light and crossed to the darkside:wink:

BTW over the next few weeks I'll put together my rebuilding of TuckTruck 3

Some folk notice K1100 fairings, but what gives with the bar stools ? Will these be incorporated into the design ?

Do you realise that you are now possibly competing with the Apple Iphone for the number of versions produced in a limited time ? Is it in the water, you know that stuff that helps to produce beer ?

    Hi Chris and Ian.

I took the fairing off because the fairing mount at the headstem finally spat the dummy on the way to Cameron Corner at Easter. I've already welded the bloody thing up 3 times before so I spat the dummy and put a round light on with a bikini fairing. Took at least 12 kilos of weight off the bike.

Here's a photo with MK3 body. Bloody ugly (just like the owner-getting in before you bastards do:lol3) but no more broken fairings and yes that is my daughter.

As for the bar stools, well I can't build someting too far away from the fridge can I:freaky(my work area is right next to my man cave). I'm sure this won't be the last sidecar I build. I just love making them. I've already made another full size mock up out of cardboard for an ultra lightweight sidecar that I want to fit to a Suzuki 1200 Bandit (when I get enough money to by one) that I want to convert to a full on off road outfit. More on that at a later date.

Chocco, if you ever need pics of sub frames, chassis', swingarm etc etc I'm sure any of us would oblige in a heart beat.

Thanks Dave, I'll resurrect my thread one day. Concentrating more what I want out of my tub & hopefully Phyllis will still be up for the chassis & mounting when it comes to time.

Sorry Alex, as you were..... :freaky

Not much done today. Lots of measuring but did bend up some drawers. Will bolt the runners up tomorrow and hopefully will cut the drawer holes out.

This photo gives you an idea of how it will eventually look.

    G'day

Little bit more today. Bolted runners to drawers. Went to cut the holes but some of the tack welds broke so I couldn't do any more. Will get the drawer front and rear panels cut to fit next weekend.
Here is a photo of what one of the drawers are for. One draw for the cooking, another for canned food, coffee etc and utensils and the 3rd will have all the small bits an pieces like first aid kit, torch etc.
