Mechanically it looks a lot like my Vapor digital speedo on my KLR.

...but if speed and distance are 100% GPS based, will it be reliable enough? I've seen my GPS make up some pretty absurd "presumptions" regarding distance, when it has lost perfect signal in trees and canyons.

Since it looks so much like the Other Trail Tech offerings, I suspect it'll be a mix of mechanical inputs and digital. So you use their speedo kit to adapt whatever input you may have (mechanical off the wheel, or digital off the CS sprocket/whatever) to the device to get speed.

Looks like it Might be a nice package ~ though I hope it can run off bike power (it mentions Li-Ion batteries).

probably battery backup like the Vapor, with auto-switch to internal power if external power disconnected.

Hope its more reliable than some of there other products...

Crap, I just picked up the new Striker because it has a voltmeter and reads mileage in 100ths for when the roadbook rides come along.



Maybe I'll make a dual housing to mount both. I hear this a lot, but I can't find the price for it or the expected delivery.

I don't see the need for people that have a good GPS already. With my AceWell and my Zumo 550 I'm pretty happy. Plus that display looks to be real small for GPS usage.

This looks sweet! Can't wait to see it in person and see what all the features are.

Adjustable ODO? numeric compass headings?

The Voyager looks quite a bit bigger of a form factor then the Vapor et al. I'll bet the display ends up being about the size of the Garmin Oregons, what Trail Tech needs to come out with is a heads up display for your goggles!

I use the vapor on my XRL and love it. Can only think that with a integrated GPS it'd be a must have.

The speed and the distance are gathered through a wheel sensor cable like Vapor and Vector as well as the GPS speed. We highly recommend the wheel sensor for accurate speed and odometer (distance).

Voyager connects to DC or AC vehicle power and has a lithium ion battery for back up. Voyager also has a engine temperature sensor, the data is recorded with the GPS track data. We have added an ignition sensor for smart data logging.

The unit is a little larger than Vapor and Vector. The screen is a WQVGA LCD with incredible resolution, contrast and visibility in direct sunlight.

Another interesting feature is the open source trail sharing. Through http://ohvtrails.net/ a rider can download trails to Voyager via the SDmicro card.

The introductory price is $279.95 for the complete kit, model specific. Voyager starts shipping the week of 11/1/10. The website (http://trailtech.net/voyager.html) should have more information later today. We are taking pre-sale orders now.

I use the Vector because I use the adjustable odo and thumb switch for roadbook rally use. Is the odo on the voyager adjustable? In 100ths? Any thumb controls available? Also is the Voyager capable of digital compass readouts (CAP heading navigation)? Thanks

+1, Also, can we buy mulitple cradles and pick-ups to move the computer between bikes?

HUD gps in ski goggles - hopefully the technology will make its way into helmets (but I wouldn't hold my breath for a few years)?
