looking for a good rear for my 990 thinking about the TKC 80 but want to know what else is out there. also is 150/70B18 TL the right size TKC80 for a 990 rear? look for a good off road tire.
+2 for the 908, but ya gotta have deep pockets for them now. The Mefo is good as is the stock Scorp. IMHO. I just ordered a new Tractionator! We will see how this does, at least it is affordable. The TKC is also good, I like it best at about 3/4 gone! Yes the 150 is the right size for an Adv. with a 4" hoop. Hope this helps. Take care, Eric.
i was pleasantly surprised at the longevity i got out of my metzeler karoo 2's. close to 4,000 miles, and while they're not as capable offroad as the 908's, i bought both front and rear tires for less than a rear 908. (less than 300.) they seem to wear a little better on pavement and not be as twitchy on it, also. i guess it really depends on what kind of terrain you're going to be using your bike on. good luck.
Motoz from Austrailia. Like a TKC on steroids. Stiff sidewalls and super puncture resistant so you can run low psi. I run around 8psi in the woods and hook up like a big tittied chick at a frat party. I don't have any connection w the company, just like good tires on the beast.
Try the Mitas E10 instead of the TKC, its way better. If you want something more agressive try the Mitas E09 or Golden Tyre GT200. All are available in 150/70/18.
I like the Heidenau K60. I've got 7000 miles on them now, and will probably get 8-9. I've used them 2 up in Colorado mud and Moab sand and also on a solo road trip. A good all around tire.
Me too, and it seems the harder you push it the better it works. Got about 4,200 miles on my rear and I'll get one more good ride out of it.
Write a Email to them. In Austria their homepage don't list the E07 and E09 in our sizes, but they are available. I tried the E10 its like a modern TKC :lol but not the tyre for me. Now I ride the E09 and like it a lot. http://www.mitas-tires.com/index.php?stranka=2&rid=1651&tit=1&cid=16415&article=mitas-tires-north-america-inc- Also have a look at Golden Tyre: http://www.goldentyreusa.com/ They don't have the GT200/GT205 on the US Site, but on the german: http://www.goldentyre.de/enduro.html
Heidenau K60 is one of the best tires I have seen. Wear in better than some street tires I have run. Check with Craig at CJ Deisgns.
This looks promising http://blackdogcw.com/black-dog-sho...re/heidenau-k74-motor-cross-tires-detail.html
