Are there any sidecarists our there who would like to do part of the Trans America Trail this summer? I have a KLR650/Ural rig, and would sure like to go with a group of other sidecarists.

As of now, the idea is to head West. There's a fellow in Colorado who has the maps for Colorado, Nevada, and Utah.

Let me know what you think.

I have been on the entire Eastern TAT East of the Mississippi. My brother was with me and rode it on a street bike. No problem!!!

My fourteen yr. old son and I are planning on doing the entire trail East to West. We have six weeks to get there and back. Our rig, '07 Patrol. Wouldn't mind hooking up with you on part of the trail

I noticed this trail several times in my xcross tour last year. I'd like to do it but not until next year cause I'm east of the Mississippi this year and the plans are set somewhat. What's happening! keep posting! this is something I'l like to do...

I woulde like to ride it again on my ural, but not during the heat of summer. I would rather wait until October some time. I rode this section a few years ago and had a ball. There are state parks to camp in each night. We went from Jellico Tn to Lula Ms in four days. I could skip the Ms section as those river rocks suck!!!! Let me know if anyone wants to set up another group to ride this fall? Possibly ride some of AK also?

You might try searching on the gps section here at ADV. Might also want to try KLR650.net?

I might be interested in riding the eastern section again?

Many have asked the same thing, on this site and elsewhere. The reason it's not available for free is because the guy who did all the work planning the route and creating the maps deserves to be paid for his hard work.
