This will be a mixed surface, big bike friendly ride. Twisty pavement, gravel, and hardpack. You will see rural farm roads, golf courses and mansions, state forest and parks, waterfalls, gameland access roads, The highest point in PA, Trout streams, Smallmouth rivers, lakes, ponds, lookout towers, fire towers, beautiful overlooks, food, covered bridges, uncovered bridges. Did I mention food?

Show up w/a well maintained bike w/a full tank.

Note: This is not an officially organized ride. You will be riding at your own risk and pace. Things will go smooth if you wait at at all turns for the rider behind you.

Lunch will be in Meyersdale, PA. maybe here.............

The beauty of riding a motorcycle is that you're not tied to the group. You're free to cut off at any time. Show up, meet some good folks, enjoy the day.

I suppose the answer is dependent on your experience riding gravel and uneven terrain surfaces w/your wife. My route goal is to keep it tame enough for a big strom or Boxer GS rider in their comfort zone, but challenging enough to keep a rider riding a DRZ or WR250 somewhat entertained. [fine line] I'd be nervous myself taking my wife on a group mixed surface ride, but then again I have very little experience w/a passinger.

Some off the Rufcutriders guys have rode some of this route w/me last year. Maybe they can chime in w/some insight.

As Mark-O stated, There are plenty of bail-out points along the way in case folks want to head home early.

I'm planning on doing a scouting run this Sunday, as I'm still tweaking the route. You or anyone for that matter are welcome to help me. As a matter of fact I'd prefer someone elses input.

Looking at the River's Edge website http://www.campriversedge.com/tent-sites I'm interperating that if you arrived on Fri, you would be required to also stay Sat night. Am I reading that right?

And on the Linden Hall Site http://www.lindenhallpa.com/default.htm It says

    Single occupancy $100.00

    Double occupancy $109.50

Does this mean if two riders split a room they would each pay $54.75? or is it $109.50 for both riders?

I spoke w/one of the owners at the Morguen Toole Restaurant /Cafe in Meyersdale today. Typically they don't open till 3:00pm on Saturdays. But she said they will open just for us for lunch if we can get enough people.
