May 25th Backway to CK in the DARK

Several people made comments about doing a night ride after looking at the neat LED lights Zen Moto had on display.
So kickstands up at 8PM from the staging area on the left just before the pavement ends at the stop sign going into Lake Pleasant. The last time I did this, it was big bike doable with a good rider.

Let me see if the ride will be done by then.

I just did the backway to CK a couple months ago on my KLR. It was pretty easy with just a few places where you had to pick your way through some rocks going up the creek bottom.

I figured out my Trail Tech X2 HID problem. One light was out and one ballast was out. Good light + good ballast = One light works! Anybody need an HID light? I have other plans...

What does it fit? I am light retarded, can you educate me?

I haven't confirmed yet, but I think the bike WITH the new lights will be ready for this ride.

Better talk to your mechanic and tell him your deadline so there is no excuse...

The bar has changed hands up there and may not be open.. I called Mike at the Mill and he has agreed to stay open late for us, they normally close at 8:00pm.. He is going to set up a buffet style dinner for us and beverages...

We need to be in there around ten PM

We need a head count so I can keep him posted....

Came from Up that way yesterday and road the bottom of Bubble Bee and Maggie Mine the dust was very bad. It is going to be pretty tough to see if there is a bunch of us so I think I will ride back down the same way we came up and avoid the dust. Anyone else is welcome to join me if they want to avoid the dust bowl. Or I would be up for riding down Ryland Creek for some variety as well.

I was planning backway up & back down or Ryland down, either way.
We're going to have to spread out for the dust, but also keep moving.
Most of us have not done many night rides and getting to the mill in 2 hours at night may be hard to do for us newbies.
Oh yeah, Dave may have an empty passenger seat afterall.

Ok cool. I thought you were going to run down the front after CK which would suck in a group with the dust. For those who have not ridden much at night the dust is the worst thing as the lights just reflect back off it. A breeze will be the best thing to have. Shouldn't be bad on the slower two tracks though..
