Tried something new- molding the leather by soaking it and keeping it formed to the shape I wanted until it dried out. Had to make an Ipad "blank" to hold the shape but it seems to have worked pretty well!

Not so much made, as refinished.

The main staircase in my house was carpet. Wife and I decided to make it hardwood to match the downstairs flooring. My friend's brother-in-law does flooring for a living and is starting to branch out on his own. He did the work on the treads, while the wife and I did all the handrails. The stairs were done in May. We just got around to doing the handrails 2 weeks ago.

Thanks, it's a really dark stain from Cabot called Midnight. If you see it in person you can see the wood grain still. When I did the first coat of stain I had a little panic attack of "Oh shit, what have I done" because of how drastic the color change was.

i had a '98 Grand Cherokee that i converted from 2wd to 4wd. one of the many little things i did for it was to install a snorkel. at the time, ARB (Safari Snorkel) didn't have a model FOR the ZJ... however the one for the Nissan Frontier fit the curves nicely. problem was getting the snorkel plumbed to the intake. i found the cure in the form of an ammo can i had in my shop and a few bits from the autozone shelf.

the important thing to remember is that the purpose of the snorkel is to keep water out. so "free flowing horsepower blah-blah" is meaningless if your intake was 2" lower than the water you got sucked into.

however, i would like to point out that if i wanted "horsepower" all i needed to do was to pull the lid from the ammo can. that setup actually worked wonders for my jeep and saved my engine twice.

    i miss that Jeep... :(

My neighbor wanted a mobile rolling party bar for our periodic block parties. I cobbled this together using various bits of scrap and no real plans. It will have a stainless steel dry sink with bucket drain and pull out ice chest in bottom. Now my neighbor is adding LED light strips all around. The bar will be shared among 4 neighbors for various events.
