Anyone using the Sena SMH10 and a Garmin Montana 650 together successfully? I have a Scala Rider G9, but it interferes with the GPS satellite reception to the point that it makes it unusable. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=861427 Thanks
I am using a Sena SMH10R with SM10 which is connected to the Montana via the rugged mount audio out. The SM10 mutes when directions are given of where to go. I have no issues at all with interference.
I have both a Sena SMH10 and an Interphone F5 that I pair with an iPhone and neither interferes with the sat reception on my Montana.
That's interesting. The Sena instructions state the the GPS navigation would be heard in the background of an intercomm conversation. From Manual: A GPS navigation or a radar detector which has headphone jack or audio line-out could be connected to the SR10 by wire. The GPS voice instruction or the radar detector alarm is also heard in the background via SR10 while having an intercom conversation or a phone call. Please refer to the SR10 user's guide for details.
I am using the SM1O, which has 2 input ports. 1 is for stereo, & the other is only mono & this one I use the output from the Montana & when directions are spoken the stereo port mutes down so that you can hear the directions. And I will say that it works great.
I just bought an SMH10 and a SM10 to hook up the Montana. I also planned to pair my Droid with the headset. After lengthy conversations and emails with Sena, it won't work. The SM10 uses A2DP comms as well as the Droid and the SMH10 only will connect to one at a time so you would lose the turn by turn. They recommended going to the SR10 instead which uses HFP and the headset will recognize voice guidance to mute the radio. Anyways I need to return the SM10 so hopefully that saves someone else form making the same mistake.
Yep, see a lot of people making this mistake. The SMH10 has 2 HFP profiles and 1 A2DP. So if you plan on using the SM10, you can't listen to music from another device BT in like your smart phone. The Mulit-Point pairing connection is the "2nd" HFP connection and what you'll pair the SR10 still allowing an HFP & A2DP connection for your smart phone. You technically could plug your droid directly into your SM10 for music, but then you'd lose the ability to talk on the phone and the ability to control your music via the jog dial. Since voice guidance is fine in mono anyways, the SR10 does make more sense. Just a word of warning though. Any audio from the SR10 is "mixed" in if you are on an intercom call or phone call, however if you are just listening to music, it gets muted while SR10 audio is being fed in. In places where the GPS is giving frequent directions, sometimes it gets annoying having the music muted so much. I actually put a ticket in with Sena to see if they could add an option to change that, but they said it wasn't possible in the current generation SMH10.
