What is the point of competing in sports with a broken arm? His wrist is broken too, right? or is it his ankle?...anyway, it's not like anything is on the line. He's not getting very good advice. He's been banged up all season from crashing that turnip truck so often. He needs to be 100% for next season.

I'm sure there's lots of internal and external pressure to make an appearance if possible at the premier level of the sport. But that bike, ridden in an effort to try and compete, tends to hurt people. Yes I know that all bikes crash but I think I'm right about the Ducati. If Stoner was still with Ducati he'd have a few more injuries I'd wager. Rossi has managed to restrain himself and ride the bike with a sense of self-preservation.

If it was ME, I'd go out and run the bike a little cooler when I was injured. Easy to say but tough to do once the race starts. I don't race bikes but I am a long-distance runner, and when I race with an injury, the mindset before the race is to show restraint, but when people start passing you it's easy to forget. Of course my chances of high-siding off the course are much lower :D

The downfall to your theory is that unless you push it those last few percent the tires won't get hot enough

I agree, and that's the problem with that bike- push it where it needs to be and smashy smashy. Or the problem's with the tire :deal

I'm wiff you, mate. He really needs to take a break. Beatn yourself up, and risking more by riding injured, (again!), ain't too clever. Right hand too...

Or broken ankles, or [insert injury here]? Nicky is no debutante, and been around quite enough to know who's advice to take, or leave.

Motegi is the first of 3 races in 3 weeks and there is a chance of rain there.

I'm curious to see if Stoner is fit and competitive in Motegi.

Likewise for Hayden. I can only hope.

Should be a fun battle to watch between Pedrosa and Lorenzo, as I expect those two will gap the field. Stoner could be a spoiler, though, and I actually hope he is. I would like to see him win out to close his career.

Will Spies finish in the top five? No would be my guess.

If weather is an issue, of course all bets are off, though I would still favor one of the top two points leaders for the win.

Will engine life be a factor for the title hopefuls?

The engine factor. Been wondering that one myself. 99 had a fresh one go boom in that crash, if he has a Spies, then it'd be a whole new game.

Usually about now Krop has the motor list up on his site, been watching for it. Might give some clues.
