Hey guys, just recently fixed my bike and took it all apart, now I am putting it back together however my gas tank is full, and the gas in on, I even tried putting it on reserve, still not even a drop comes out. Any ideas? Thanks!

    PS it's a 2000 Kawasaki KLR650

The fuel valve is vaccume operated, the engine must be cranking over or running for fuel to flow.

Make sure you have both the fuel line and the vaccume line hooked up to the fuel valve

I believe there is also a "Prime" position on the petcock that allows gas to flow without the vacuum from the engine running.

Is the vaccum nozzle located next to the fuel nozzle however it's turned sideways sticking put behind the on/off/reserve switch??

Well I found a lot of metal pieces inside the cover that were floating around so hopefully when I go home tonight after work I'll put the gas tank on and turn it on to listen, however I ruined the clutch. I cannot put the black rod back inside the cover straight, seems to be bent...might have to take it to a shop :cry

I just realized that this is the bike with a clutch issue

Please tell me that you are not planning on starting the bike before the problem is found or without the clutch cover on:eek1

The oil and coolant need to be drained and the waterpump and clutch cover need to come off then the clutch assembly needs to be dissasembled to inspect all components. Also there is a sceen inside that side of the case that probably needs cleaned.I would also flush out the cases once the problem is fixed and before the clutch cover is put back on.
