Refokus and I wanted to plan a ride together and Brad came up with Montana Mountain. His choice was perfect and I would like to thank him and everyone else who joined us. While we had some mechanical issues I think a good time was had by all.

The turn out was a incredible to say the least. I just got in from helping Brian retrieve the 125 and stopping for some cold beverages so I still need to work on my pics but please post yours here if you were on the ride.

Again thanks to all for a incredible day with perfect conditions and great amigos!!!!

    Until next time

Riding in the fog and cool temps was a treat but added to excitement of picking your line...once through the fog there were some great views.

For as many GPS tracks were passed around a few riders still missed the cabin....:rofl

What a great turnout for a ride over Montana Mountain. I have been wanting to check this out for the last several years but it just never worked out. I was speaking with IBRiding (Bill) about a ride and this one came up. I posted up a new thread to see if anyone wanted to come along and the response was incredible. I think everyone that joined in had a good time, the weather was perfect and riding through the clouds on top was pretty cool as well.

I think there were about 15-16 bikes and one Razor in our group. I was surprised with all the other side by sides, jeeps and quads on the trail since the other ride reports I went through mentioned none.

Also, I did not get too many good shots with my camera this time. I guess I am a little out of practice with my photog skills and it shows. Well, here are a few for the many to see............

Here is the only one I got at the Waffle House. I really had to look at this one closely (it is a shitty pic) but I see DOD and then looking closer I see Big E. I think the 690 has gotten bigger or Eric has lost some weight....

Here are a few shots of the staging area. This is a big area to stage, worked out perfect.

Here is Bill and Pete, all smiles and ready for the ride. Pete was stoked to have his 250 two stroke Gas Gas with him
    [IMG]

Big E, DOD, and utefan in a very heavy discussion.

Here is Roger in his Razor with cyberdos son as passenger. I know the pic is horrible but I had a blast watching the little guy as he was having a great time and it was only going to get better.

fanatic291 had a little slip on the climb up the hill so he was letting the razors pass by

Here is OHV Jeff on his 4 stroke desk with azredline on his tail. I snapped the photo a second too quick as Steve sported a good wheelie.

Bonus hill climb, here is azredline up the hill

    and a zoomed in shot
    [IMG]

No one made the climb as it was steep and muddy with a 4 ft rain rutt running down the middle of it.

Great ride with some great people. I had a really good time and would like to do this loop again in the future and do some exploring in this area.

Thanks again to all the people that jumped in on this ride. I wish I could remember all the people on the ride, next time I will do better......:clap

Brad's DR650. It is crazy to see all the work he has done to his bike. I plan to use his bike as a reference for what I want to do to my bike...As he said, "It's just money...Spend it."

Roger, Steve, and Brad swapping stories from previous rides. Thanks to Roger for bringing the Razor. It was fun watching him tear up the hills.

Julio and Antonio taking a break at the top.

The clouds really made the pictures turn out well today. This was the first ride I have had where I was happy to have my jacket on.

My DR rolled over the 10000 mile mark on the Odometer this ride. 4500 of those are mine. This has been a great machine for my first bike.

Thanks to all the riders that showed up for the ride. I am a lot more confident when I have others watching my back. This ride had great scenery and the temps were perfect.

It must have rained the night before, because the dirt felt great under my tires. This was a fun scenic social event.

After regrouping, we split again. :lol3

A few of us went to tackle the bonus loop while the rest shot out towards lunch.

The beginning of the bonus stuff was a little rocky.

Then quickly we hit the nasty uphill which had slayed me last time.

Looks like today would be just a repeat of that. Here's AZRedline saying "put down the stupid camera and give me a hand."

While that was going on Roger shot the RZR up there to see what all the fuss was about. That thing has no problem climbing.

This shot gives you a little better perspective of how steep it is.

Lucky I didn't get to go. I hate those rocky, rough trails with lots of switch backs. I have really gotten to like the wide open easy dirt roads. :clap

We needed you there to supervise the on-trail tire changing class.

Here are two vids that I was able to capture.

First going through Hewitt Station. Notice at around 1:44 that I almost get my head chopped off by a low hanging cactus arm. :lol3

and then chasing Roger on the beast.

Did you guys turn around after the big hill on the bonus section or did you continue up the other road around to the top?

I have personally never tried that hill climb, just seemed like a waste of energy specially when looking down it from the top, that effer is steep.
