    Rules are easy...

The "Tag" can be any object. It will be the object directly behing the bike in the photo.

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a photo, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Go to a new location and park your bike in front of something, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may be placed on a dirt road if a street bike can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - Your bike has to be in the TAG picture

    #6 - cannot re-tag south jersey tags

#7 - picture must be taken from the correct end/side..... when possible

    Best practices would include:

    - getting a couple of potential tag pics if you're not sure you have an "original" (will save you a special trip when you mistakenly retag)

    - not delaying "too long" before posting the new tag- especially when the weather is nice and/or on holidays or weekends when more people are more available.

    - try to keep away from potentially dangerous conditions like busy intersections

    - take the time to get a good photo/composition

    - provide the location in a post after your tag is "gotten" so Steve can update the list.

    ***ATTENTION***

#1. THE TAG IS THE OBJECT BEHIND THE BIKE. there are no official mascots in this game. any "item" left at a tag site is just that, an item and should be considered a gift to the tag gods. THE ONLY THING THAT MUST BE TRANSPORTED TO THE NEW TAG IS YOUR BIKE.

#2. THE FIRST PERSON TO POST THE PICTURE IS THE HOLDER OF THE TAG AND GETS TO PICK THE NEW TAG.

the following do not qualify you as a tag winner:
    i googled it first
i arrived at the scene first
    i clicked my camera first
i took a picture of an item left near a tag

Below is Steve's spreadsheet. he does a great job and you should really look at it before dropping a tag. just hit the drop down arrow of the town/county your in and it will show all the previous tags in that town/county.

This water tower is located in a historic village not far from the "jersey shore" where Bruce grew up. The village itself was established in the early 1800's and was originally established as a site to mine "bog iron". The village was named after 1 partner of the smelting company.

and as a bonus I got to meet the lady who's husband built it. It's not from the original village era as it was built in the 70s.

I'll try to put my tag up tomorrow.

Sorry for the User ID, I'll get it fixed...it's Bill...anyway, I suck at pix. That's a great bike. I'm disconnected from home enough that I was assigning 'celebrity' to your machine...like, "hey a Transalp and it's close to my house':lol3

Man, another state joins in the tag-o-rama and doesn't even give me credit for the cut and paste of the rules.:D

Great to see another game started. I think tag-o-rama draws out more noobs than anything else. It will be fun to see a bit more of NJ (and maybe steal a tag or two).

Speaking of tag stealing, good job to toecutter. First tag in NJ and it is grabbed by a border jumper from PA.:clap
