Enough already!! No one here has seen the set up in person or let alone was involved and actually knows how it really worked. Additionally, no one here has a F'n clue if what the FIM thought it did or what Robby "admitted" it did was even close to what it actually did or how it worked.

Really people, enough bull shit speculation, move on.

Anyone remember the Michael Waltrip Toyota getting penalized in Nascar for having jellied alcohol packed into their intake manifold? Man.. I love racing.. I mean.. just sitting around dreaming this stuff up is fun enough let alone trying to put it into practice.

For my money I think the tires were packed full of magic.

Yep, Gas Gas from the beginning. The development body kit is exclusive to Gas Gas and stands apart from JVO's revised body and tank. I like the look of this EC Raid, clean and tidy while the newer JVO 'consumer' kit for Yamaha's in general is interesting. I'm still waiting for it to start growing on me.

While I agree that the Gas Gas set up is better looking I would not turn down a free JVO kit if one were to come my way. I have to say it would be interesting to see how this bike handles. After all a great engine in what is most likely a much more compliant frame. Probably handles like a dream.

Looks like a few people already found the F5 tee shirt ordering page. I hadn't posted it yet, because I've had to re-think printing dates. I may do an early printing if I have time, but it may have to be one big printing at the end of the race. You can order now, but the printing will be in January! The wording on the page will change, but here's a link anyway...

Proceeds will help the site a little; hope to send a decent check to Baldy as a thank you for giving us a place to discuss the greatest race!

BTW this is the final design, on a sand color tee shirt. If you don't want the shirt, I encourage you to still support the site by hitting the donate button and sending Baldy a little love! :D

Yup, you have that right. We'll be there, supporting Kevin and riding with the Freedom crew in their rig. Not enough US-based riders this year to send two complete teams. Hopefully there will be more next year. Who's in???

I'll be wrenching on Kevin's Rally Moto Kit Honda 450X. Feel free to follow along on RMS' Facebook, where I'll be posting updates as long as I have cell service.

    Deadly,

The line of the fairing plays a trick on the eye. The front tank holds 6.6 gallons/25 liters.

Kevin is awesome. He's going to do well, at least he'll have the best time ever, doing it.

He has focused a lot on fitness, which I think is huge. It can really make the difference, especially in recovery time day-to-day. If you've read his bio at all, you know he's not one to give up easily.

Two weeks from today I will see the bike for the first time with my own eyes. I'd normally be a little worried, but I know that Chris @ Rally Moto Kit is about as big a perfectionist as there is, and he did all the kit's wiring and nav setup. And Kevin's kept me in the loop the entire build and we consulted about most of the parts, so I'm actually feeling really confident.

I packed my bags tonight--tools, tent, bedroll, and clothes for 24 days, all in 2 pieces of luggage weighing less than 50 pounds each for my direct flight to Lima. I have about 15 pounds to spare, but I haven't packed socks and underwear yet :D
