I'm ordering a 60csx and was looking for feedback on the RAM mount.
BTW, I've used and own several RAM mounts and I've had no problems.

Also, REI has a package with the topo software. I do ride offroad quite a bit here in the Rockies, but not sure how good the software really is..
    Any comments?

I have the 60csx and a ram mount. I dont like the way it holds the unit. I'd go with a Tourtech.

I've got no problem with the 60-series RAM mount, I've been using it since 2004 and have ridden above the Arctic Circle and past the equator, among other places.

Many threads on the crapy RMA 60 Cradle, use "search". You don't need a "S", get a 76 and save a lot of trouble, it has better switches any way.

I use the TT locking mount, much better IMHO. Also, use the shortest arm to connect the ram balls.

I had a 60CSx with a ram mount on my KLR. Hard wired it and had no problems at all.

I have Topo 2008, but only used it for hiking so far, not offroading on the bike-It uses a lot of memory on the microSD card to get any detail in the sections.

When I first got the 60CSx RAM mount, I thought I had to lock it in at the top and then pop it in at the bottom. The bottom of my GPS got quite scuffed and the rubber started to peel off before I realized it is supposed to fit in at the bottom, and then pulling back on the top bit it locks in. And since it requires bending hard plastic, when I used it last weekend in the cold, the plastic snapped. Not the best design. I'd think of an alternative mount, but I'll probably get the same 'cuz it's cheap and easy to get.

I just ran my 60csx mounted in a 100% RAM Mount and cradle on a KTM 640 at speeds up to 90+mph, in deep, bike/rally car rutted up sand, woods, and pavement.

    Not one issue whatsoever.

The Ram mount for the 60 series is OK. Since the 60's are much lighter than my 376, I don't mind it on the Ram. Like a lot of other people, I loop the lanyard around the handlebar just in case.

There is thread in here somewhere about modifying the Ram mount to use a screw instead of the clip at the top. I think the plastic did break and it was a way to make the mount better.

I've got the RAM mount and have no problems either. I use a little velcro on the unit and the RAM down low in the holster and it holds very securely.

I got the plastic touratech ram mount and it works decent roughed it up on a few occasions, hammered woops etc and its still in one piece!I use a zip tie or a piece of line to make a backup leash to my bars or mirror just in case of a problem. Also the price ain't bad too.For dualsport works fine IMO

I say the Ram mount sucks because I ride hard off road and it has ejected 2x's. Ram says its a Garmin problem? I dont think so. I put a stout zip tie on now when I use it. Nay sayer for a reason. Get the TT and have no worries.

My 60's popped out of the RAM mount several times while riding dirt. I just ordered the Tourateck locking mount.

I have used the 60csx on a ram mount on lots of roads with no problem whatsoever. The only issue is that if you leave the bike alone it doesnt protect it from theft. The touratech has a more lockable feature.
    Hope it helps.
