The sts kit, which is everything except the hubs will be around £670 + delivery The sts kit needs assembly once delivered.... in some circumstances you can ship your hubs to the factory in Italy and they will build your wheels FOC I will know more soon In my opinion , for the little extra i would buy the full built up wheelsets, and keep your old ones for spares or to put back on when you sell the bike, then you can sell on the alpinas But its your choice

I honestly dont know, this has come straight from Alpina HQ Are you 100% sure the hubs are exactly the same except single disc, if so the sts kit is an option for super enduro owners It may be that Alpina have not tested the wheels on the super enduro... either way if the hubs are same as the 950/990 then sts kit is the way to go
Yup, I have fitted Adv wheels into a 950 SuperEnduro. You dont fit a disc onto one side of the hub and you use the SE spacers. Job done :) My name is Kevin and I am from Yorkshire
Well, if kev says they fit.... then they fit Seriously, Alpina would never sell a wheelset with the wrong hubs on, especially a set that are supposed to have 2 front discs, which is maybe why they say there not available All alpinas are a direct fit plug and play system and maybe they cant get SE front hubs for some reason But having said that, It doesnt stop me ordering them if anyone wants this set up
Yes. And 4.25 is much too wide for offroad use. If you can find a way, a 3.5" rear would be an excellent rim size for the big bikes who prefer the dirt over the tarmac... .
Now I know I'm a dumbass and all(this has been verified many times), but do they have stock size tubeless rims for the 990? I'd be very interested in that. Also what makes the stock size bad for offroad?
Not necessarily bad but... You have a better selection of proper offroad tires to select from, that don't fit the wide rim as well. Less prone to dings. Skinnier rims make the bike more flickable offroad.
Thanks. I am enamored by the idea of tubeless tires. I've never changed a tube other than a bicycle and am just thinking plugging a flat out in the middle of nowhere would be so much simpler.
If you're going to offer 17/19 you should consider offering the rear in a wider size of 5-5.5" which is the size of the new 1190 and the water cooled BMW so those sizes will become much more popular. 4.25 is a 150/70-17 which is narrow for the bike and street rubber. I run 160-170 and am waiting for a good 180 option. Gregor
Its a matter of tyre geometry (and lack of tyres than can handle power) rather than width. 150/70 is not that good of a street tyre profile. Perfect street rim size for our bikes is 5" Having said that, the stock scorpion on the stock 4.25 rim is just huge, larger than the 150 indicated. It is as wide (if not wider) than an 150/70 anakee2 on a 5" rim.
