Am currently out on the road and the front brakes have gradually seized up. I've ridden about 20 miles, any swift quick fixes would be appreciated!

The pistons or a piston is probably sticking. Riding it like that may not end well. The pistons would need to come out and get cleaned up, calipers too.

Caliper Pistons sticking, and alternatively the brake pressure may not be releasing. Crack (loosen momentarily) the bleed valve on the caliper. If yo u get a spurt of brake fluid and the brakes "undrag", this is the reason.

Make sure that there is a tad of free-play where the brake lever contacts the master cylinder-- if the MC piston can not return all the way to it's "rest" position, the pressure may no be released. If that is OK, drain the brakefluid reservoir and check the, uumm, "Bypass port" in the bottom-- there will be a large Main port and a very tiny Bypass port. Poke a small piece of wire into the bypass port to clean.

If those are OK, you may have an old, swollen and collapsed brake hose which may function as a one-way valve and not release pressure. Replace it.

This is a good time to go through and refurbish the brake system.
