I've paid no attention whatsoever to the NFL this season; haven't watched a single play but we're planning, as usual, to stay up late with some terrible Mericun junk-food and a few bottles of piss-poor Mericun beer to watch. So, give me the low-down on the two teams. Who should I be looking out for?
If you watch an hour of any pre-game show, the announcers will cover the top storylines in excruciating detail: Ray Lewis is retiring; Joe Flacco is an elite QB; Colin Kaepernick is a wunderkind; two brothers coaching against one another; yada-yada-yada. If I sound jaded, don't let that deter you from watching the game. I am very much looking forward to the Super Bowl itself, and I believe it will be a great game. The only really interesting stuff will occur after the opening kickoff and end when the game clock reaches 00:00. Just watch the game and enjoy it.
Mr. Gone has changed from tuning forks to some Whitewater Apocalyptic Symbolism. What is up with that? Did the piggy's get a new coach again already?
The week before the Super Bowl is one of the absolutely worst weeks in Sports Media. Hell, I might have to tune my radio to Music. I know I won't be watching ESPN.
The Cowboys aren't really the Cowboys if Landry isn't there. Now they are like so many completely devalued brands.
I haven't heard anything about a new coach, but you never know what happens in the deep dark forests of the Ozarks between a man and his... uh... hog.
I agree. I usually just watch the game. All the other stuff might be interesting, but it seems over-hyped. Maybe I'm getting curmudgeonly.
Actually, I made the vast mistake of venturing down into C S & M and opened my mouth, and made a mistake. Gasp! I know, right? So I got flamed. So I'm lying low. Incognito. Maybe no one will recognize me. That sort of thing.
