We got one for free for signing up for verizon's FiOS service. It's pretty crappy if compared to legitimate HD camcorders. But for what it is, it's just darn convenient fixed focus footage. The optics and audio are basic, and the sensor is miniscule. But it gets the job done.

The new Koday Zi8 is generally considered as the best of class for these small HD camcorders now. I really like mine, although it obviously doesn't have the features of a full-featured camcorder.

It's the best for things like indoor shots of birthday parties and whatnot, but the lack of zoom is limiting.

What it does, though, it does extremely well. I read a review roughly a year or go or so that pointed out that the low-light performance beat many high-end camcorders, and of course it's dead-simple to use.

I got the 60 minute mino hd for my wife last year. She really likes it and the kids use it a lot too. As somebody else mentioned, it is very simple to use. It's also small and lightweight, easy to take it with you in your pocket.

The hd video looks really good once you download it to the computer, except that it can be shakey unless the person using the camera holds it really steady while recording.

Just get a GOpro HD, far better image quality (then Flip) and it's waterproof, crushproof, and mounts anywhere!

They are extremely easy to use, download and share.

My wife has the UltraHD. Purchased from Costco.

We use it to videotape the Grandkids, works great!
