Look what followed us home today...

In good shape, except for a rusty but not leaking tank (with 10+ year old gas still in it).

    So the fun begins...

Stock--it's actually going to be wife's project.

Good, you might even find a stock set of pipes for it.

because it is so much cheaper and easier to do it than to restore it if the pipes and stock paint are gone or hashed....at least that is my take. I would rather restore it like I am doing to my 1969 CL350. All stock save for the paint.....

When I say stock, I mean close-to-stock. It's going to remain a nice little standard and not get chopped, bobbed, or cafe'd.

That said, I'd like to find some stock (or similar) pipes. If we can find some CL-200 pipes, they may go on instead--wife likes that look a lot.

Does anyone know if CL-350 pipes will fit? I've found some in great shape locally.

    Thanks,
    Ian

I am gonna guess no, as in not as they are. BUT it would not be hard to adqapt them and I am with you, the CL pipes look way better. I have 2 1969 CL350s and love the 69 exhaust box.

Vintage Honda part prices can make you consider a Harley. They do make Harley parts look cheap.

    BTW nice grab.

Thanks--I've been looking around and the parts for this aren't too bad. I've more recently been parts-shopping for the euro bikes, so the Honda isn't looking too bad.

Better light, better camera, better pictures:

I have a CL200 and have a set of pipes that may need a splice to make them work. Apparently the PO used a hack saw to remove the muffler. I'll have to take a closer look to see what's what. PM me if you think you are interested and I can take some pics.

Not even close. CL175 pipes would be closer, but I have doubts about those fitting as well.

The CL200 may use a different left side cover than the CB200. I know for certain that the CB and CL 350s have different left side covers.

That thing does not look half bad. My dad had one back in the day new, a friend of mine had one as well.

If you can get that mechanical front disc brake to work well, let me know. I remember it more as a fright-inducing mechanisim than as an actual way to slow the bike down. :-)
