So I was hijacking another thread and still will http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=565740 but I wanted a place to document my scoot and stuff with control over the first post So here goes: Break-in Mileage First tank: 79 mpg (1/3 - 2/3 throttle) Second tank: 83 mpg (1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 (small amount) throttle) Third tank: 77 mpg (1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 (bit more ) throttle) Fourth tank 79 MPG (1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 (bit more ) throttle) Fifth tank 82 MPG (1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 (bit more ) throttle) Sixth tank 86.3MPG (2/3 - 3/3 (lots more ) throttle) Seventh tank 79.80MPG (mostly 1/2 to wot) I think the mileage depends on the number of green vs red lights I get on my wee commute Mods and silly add-on's Garmin 60cx with garmin bicycle mount. Rubber diamond plate for foot positions. RAM mount top box time bye bye decals! Get these mirrors! ride reports Boldly going nowhere - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=600475 WeeBeastie takes on Hwy 1 - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=610896 Mini memorial ride, RIP Kari - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14694036&postcount=134 WeeBeastie takes on Hwy 1 again - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18632296&postcount=205 WeeBeastie and gorilla cooking http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18963739&postcount=64
Mileage - After break-in service 8th tank of gas and after the tune up the mileage has dropped , this could be a combination of hard riding and many many red lights so time will tell. 8th fill up -MPG 73mpg (mostly hill, wot and red lights ) 9th fill up - MPG 83 (more hills, long straights and no lights) 10th fill up - MPG 72.8 ( red light traffic ) So now a few tanks later I came to the conclusion that I will get 85+ on extend trips with little or no stops regardless of the hills etc. Low to mid 70' when commuting. lots of filtering and wot from the lights etc. Still not bad and if I can lose some weight I might get a little better still
Fastest speed so far *63.7* MPH gps indicated. :huh History 51.7 -> 52 -> 52.2 - >53.2 -> 53.4 -> 58.7 ->60.3 -> 63.7
picked up a new 09 this April morning. Got a fair deal from the san jose dealer and was in and out in 10 minutes The back and forth with the other place made this an easy choice. Of course it rained all morning and I had a fun ride back in a nice wet thunderstorm
u mind posting your OTD price? im just curious. btw..my vino can hit 57-58mph indicated. im not sure what it really is GPS wise. tire pressure makes a huge difference in top speed.
Scrapped the led rear brake bulb idea, didn't know about the location, I will do the LED version (full led panel) eventually, nice to have a bright tail light in commuter traffic for sure. Garmin GPS. Only issue is the one I caught will power off if I hit a large bump. Not a huge deal but kinda annoying, need to see if there is a easy fix for that other then wire it for power. I seem to like to stretch out and not use the floor board too much, so I cut out some of my fav rubber diamond plate and stuck it on so it has some more grip and doesn't look so messy with all the scuffs etc on the smooth plastic. (very klr I know!) now to figure out the rear rack thingy since they are on back order from Japan. Might go the welding route O'Hooligan mentioned but I need to find a damn welder first that is local
I don't have the papers in front of me but I paid invoice of around 2,700 then all the fee and mofo tax crap My speedo is way off as expected, under 40 it is within 2- of actual, over 45 it is very optimistic maybe as much as 5- of actual. Feeling like it has loosened up since new but still is being treated nicely with break in going on.
Gary, here is the weld job of the eyebrow rack.<a href="http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/ohooligan/?action=view¤t=IMG_0001-4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://www.advrider.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/o/ohooligan_IMG_0001-4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/ohooligan/?action=view¤t=IMG_0002-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q161/ohooligan/IMG_0002-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> And the "Batmobile"look!
Looks great, I have to source a local welder and see if they can fabricate my wee design for your sticker http://www.nicknacks-n-more.com/graphicfun.htm bound to be a way to get a nice size one for the front Nice screen, what was that again, you told me over the weekend but i forgot
The screen is from a R1200 roadster, try to look for a used one as they are quite pricey. Looks good, but only keeps the wind off the chest.
I think some swap meets are in my future. so far I have not really wanted for a screen other then the cool looks of course
installed the cup holder tonight, I get silly nervous drilling into the plastic :huh but it went ok, heart rate dropped and it should be a useful addition.
slowly getting there. Springs are starting to loosen up a bit and are not as abrupt, take off is much improved and top speed is gaining. Hoping for a bit more MPG also this time
I ordered up a bunch of ram mount stuff for the GS and the zuma from hotspice in vendors (ADV discount ) The brake reservoir ram mount looked a bit more fiddly with new bolts needed and some cutting on the spacers. So I opted to use that on the GS The M8 bar clamp one however worked perfect. Removed the blot, replaced with the ram bolt and cut a hole in the clamp cover for a nice fit and stock look. Now I can mount my wee gate/garage door opener and even my otterbox if needed, or the spot for when I am out in the wilderness
Rear rack arrived today, topbox arrived yestarday so I took the car today but I get to grab and take all this <S>junk</S> stuff home and rig more stuff to the weebeastie
Ordered the sear rip off of the jcwhitney top box, when it arrived it came in a jcwhitney box so I guess it was not a rip off but a over stock or some such other magical reduced price wizardry. My rear rack arrived, man that thing is heavy! When time and fabrication time allows I will attempt to fab something as strong but lighter. Anyway the main reason was so when the wife uses it she can stuff her milk and bread etc. The other reason is so when I rig the highway pegs for my son he has something to lean on. I might try to put a bit of foam in there and carry my laptop too, we shall see. The one thing I will not be doing is putting a helmet in it. It won't fit Doesn't look too ugly The 15 minute "I think I have some scrap that will work" method
indeed it does. Even has mounting hardware if you could call it that http://auto.sears.com/Item.htm?catalogId=10624&productId=100000346516&appId= The price went up I got it delivered for $45 now they want $59 The metal strips where too long and heavy and well just kind of crappy. No locking nuts or anything.
You're really got that thing set up nicely. I need to get off my butt and get a RAM mount on my MP3. So how is it so far for errands, joyriding, etc?
