I don't want that mode, how do I order a bike without it?

I'd rather have it called Press On Regardless mode.

There have been a couple riding around South Island as part of the "One World, One R1200GS" campaign. Very, very impressive!

I find sliced bread pretty ordinary. It's a bike that will again put it at least five years ahead of the opposition IMHO. And I will admit the opposition have been doing a bit of catch up of late.

Yeah, especially with that new-fangled water-cooling!

It's competitors will be wishing that it was only the water cooling that defines this new model

Don't forget to use genuine BMW water in that thing.

I don't doubt it will be a great bike, but I don't see anything revolutionary about it that hasn't been done on the MS already. And too much tech gadgetry is not necessarily a plus in this class if you lean on the adv side of the riding spectrum.

Is a street bike. Different as apples and oranges. 17 inch front wheels don't cut it in the dirt world. The GS is a real Adventure Bike as is the 990 KTM Adv, Yamaha S10, Triumph 800s etc.

Oh no indeed. One of the most independent, accurate and entertaining voices in the bike writing business. I hadn't realised until I saw this that his was the report I was looking forward to most. He'll be missed, a lot. Thoughts for his family.

Agreed, I have been constantly checking his site the last couple days for any thoughts from him on the new GS. Terrible news.
