Baza, I think it's the 9th-11th of March.

I could be wrong, has been known to happen, so we'll let Bob confirm it. :D

Is the snowy river rd a good option to get from Melbourne to the rally?

Burra Bob? Who's that these days?? He could be roseBud Bob now!!!
    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Many from this site will say it is, but it depends on what your riding, if you have a pillion, what you're towing (if anything) and how you ride. From my point of view, it is preferrable to ride the long way (via Jindabyne) on the Mighty CB1300, with Mrs W on back and the Classic trailer in tow - besides that's a good excuse to ride The Great Alpine Way.

    Thanks Will.
I am taking the 640 Adv and do solo or with whomever wishes to ride.
I will not go there if it was pissing rain a few days before.
I am a dirt bike junkie but wishes not to get to any trouble, so more wondering how this road is and if it is filled with steep climbs and rotten condition or is it a loggers type of road with enough gravel to make it easy with luggage?

    Edit: this is the route

That's the Barry way you are referring to. You wont have a problem, your 640 will eat it up, I rode it last Friday up to Jindabyne and it is in very good condition, just take it easy on the narrow sections, twice I met F**king 4wd's towing bloody big caravans when the signs clearly state at both ends,"Not suitable for trailers or caravans" On one particular section the right hand pannier dragged along the side of a caravan!

Although the road is a bit narrow and rough in a few sections, particularly south of Suggan Buggan, you'll do it easy on the 640. You ar likely to meet front wheel drive cars travelling between Buchan and Jindabyne - I've done it easy in a Falcon Ute and even on a bicycle (Kossie to Coast Ride http://www.austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2340&highlight=kossie).

Will probably take the new beast up (DR650) if my safari tank arrives in time.

Otherwise it will have to be the 1200.

Me and Grump and a few others will be going across from Dargo to Omeo then via Benambra to Suggan Buggan. Its all easy, you could do it in a Commodore (old one) so if any body wants to tag along, be in Dargo at about ten am on Saturday.
