Running multiple GPS units at the same time?

I have seen and heard that a number of folks run more than one GPS at a time on their bikes.

For those of you who do this, would you be kind enough to lay out how you use them? Is each one dedicated to a specific task? If so, what are those tasks and how does that division benefit you? Any other comments or thoughts about running two (or more?) at the same time appreciated.

Yes I'm one of them.For me the main reason to use two units is the zoom.To see the smallest trail/road you have to use certain zoom which lead to narrow picture and you can't see what to expect after few kms (or miles?)So I use one (278)for finest details and other (Zumo) for "global" view.On the other hand the best units for terain (276,278,478..)can eliminate VERY annoying contour lines while other can't .Zumo is useless with topo maps!But then Lady in Zumo guides me nice in some chaotic city traffic,Zumo can sing,has BT..Take the best from both worlds (and don't forget paper map!)

I run a Garmin 60csx for tracks or a downloaded route which I may be riding. The other is a Garmin Nuvi that is used as a general location gps,showing me street designations and finding "points of interest"; gas, ATM, food and such.
The 60 follows the route I am riding while the Nuvi, with it's bigger screen, helps me know my location and surroundings with just a glance. The Nuvi isn't really for the "off the beaten path" but helps when finding certain locations.

I use paper maps and the 60 for my dual-sport riding away from population centers or major highways only and both the 60 and Nuvi on my GS for mild dual-sport/touring.

I really like to have both when on the road traveling as they act as confirmation of my path and destination and allow me to ride downloaded routes without having to switch back and forth from a route to other screens on the same gps.
